Part 4 chapter 5

Months after Sharleen makes her decision , it's now 1954 and Joicy is now enduring a very hard time in her life still with her husband Kevin . She's completely heartbroken that Kevin turned out to be everything her father was to her mother . It's almost hard for her to look at her children especially Matthew because he's the spitting image of his father . It almost hurts to imagine the fact her son could possibly turn out to be just like his father.
  
            So a year had gone by , Kevin has completely separated himself from Joicy and has now begun sleeping with other women . Jerry and Sharleen try to reconcile their relationship after many years but the distance between them makes it hard for them . Joicy feels as though being with Kevin makes it hard for her to fully accept Sharleen into her life because everything Kevin is doing , Jim did the same with her mother as well . Her resentment towards Sharleen grew more especially after hearing the community talking about her mother becoming a witch . She also feels like her mother didn't do anything to stop it only did witchcraft which didn't really change anything . Later that night Joicy made dinner for her kids and Kevin . When she sat the plates down at the table , Kevin took a bite of the food and spit it out and looked at Joicy in a rage he walked towards her and took his hand and smacked her so hard she felled to the ground . This was the first time he had ever did this infront of their children. He then stands over her , cherish only being 5 ran over by the kitchen to pull her father's leg to attempt to get him off her mother , he ends up hitting cherish as he was blacking out . After that something in Joicy had finally had enough of Kevin's behavior . She later took her , cherish , & Matthew to Jerry's house and she sat down with him and explained what happened . Jerry was furious , he had called all his friends and they went after Kevin . They had jumped him bad , so bad Kevin decided to call the cops on Jerry and he was later arrested the next day . Joicy decided to get all the money she could and bail him out but the judge wanted him to serve some time for battery . Lucky the judge give him a good deal thanks to God and he did 60 days in jail and was to do 72 hours of community service . During the duration of the time Jerry spent in jail , Kevin disappeared . No trace of him he had packed some of his things , took his car and left . After Joicy found out he had left she felt peace . She finally felt safe in her house . That night the kids slept in the same bed with their mother, knowing that they won't have to worry about their father again .

      On the contrary now she has to be a single mother to her two children . Just like her mother was when their father had died . In 1961 , six years later joicy and her mother had finally found some common ground between each other . Joicy was very careful about letting her kids come around their grandmother because after all she was a witch . Joicy didn't know if the rumors were truth but something in her told her it might be true . Sharleen changed her wardrobe to this dark , satin , dramatic garments , and mostly maxi dresses. Since she's still attractive she's known as a seductive witch . Her assignment by the kingdom of darkness is to sleep with different men . Instead of going to marget's aunt she now has the power herself . Sharleen and Debbie don't talk because Debbie knows what Sharleen has been doing and is aware of what really went down with jerrel's death . Joicy tries to join a new church home to grow closer to God . After all that happened over the years her relationship with God kind of became stagnant , but she knew he was always with her . What Joicy had realized is that she grew up into situations that she's in now .

In 1962 , Joicy had many thoughts and reflections on her relationship to her now ex-husband . She tried hard doing something different then what she knew but , because of this curse that was set on the family she ended up finding the same thing in Kevin . When she first met him she waited till marriage to have sex , she wanted to try a different approach hoping she would get a different result . She wasn't dating around while with him and made sure she didn't rush anything . But what she didn't realize that it takes more work within herself and God to make sure she fully healed from her troubled childhood with her mother. There are some familiarity between her and her mother and that's why they often bump heads with each other . Sharleen always had resentment towards Joicy because she felt Joicy always judged her . She didn't feel like Joicy was the good poster child for a daughter. Joicy had this thought in the back of her mind the day of her wedding with Kevin she seen sharleen's face and she saw nothing but jealousy and hatred towards her . I guess Sharleen felt a way about Joicy's wedding because she never had a proper one , not even a ring . It was in the family bloodline to
Be envy or jealous of things or people who to them felt like were better than someone else . In order to pay off the debt that Jerry and his wife owed due to him being out of work they didn't want to put themselves in even more debt so they decided to sell their house and move in with Joicy and her kids . Luckily Joicy had a 4 bed room home so it was enough space for them all . In 1963 as the next year is approaching , the family wanted to have a nice Christmas gathering at the house . The guest list was of course : Joicy , Jerry & his wife , Debbie , Mr.Vangoe & Mrs. Sena , Melissa & her husband , a new friend of Joicy's Derrick , and a couple of others . But Joicy wanted to try something different , so she decided to invite her mother Sharleen as a surprise guest . Now at this point everyone outside of sharleen's kids and grandkids knew that Sharleen had became a witch . So when Sharleen walked in everyone became quiet and gasped cause they know if they looked at her the wrong way she would probably do something to them . So Joicy decided to break the awkwardness and gives her mother a hug . But when grandma Debbie saw Sharleen things immediately went left . Debbie was not happy that Sharleen became a witch . Especially since she had raised Sharleen in the church and knew the end results for witches who do things against Gods' people . Even though her and Sharleen didn't have the best relationship , she still loved her . So Debbie decided to confront her by saying "So I guess me raising you in the church wasn't good enough for you to become a witch". Sharleen "excuse me but I am grown now I have my own children , I don't have to listen to you anymore". Debbie "I think we should talk outside". Sharleen "Oh no u wanted to make a scene I think we can talk right here". Debbie then grabs her  and proceeds to escort her outside , but then Sharleen pushes her mother into the coat hanger making her fall . Everyone begin to gasp , joicy and Derrick run over by the door to help Debbie up . Joicy
Then gets in sharleen's face and says "Mom I'm sorry but I think you need to leave". Sharleen runs out the party slamming the door and drives to Margret's aunt house . She went to Margret's house because of what she wanted to do , she would need some help with this curse . She now wants to place a curse on Debbie... her mother . Now this is major one considering Debbie is a righteous woman of God in her generation . So this would affect everyone that's alive or haven't been born yet . A hex like this could only break by family members who have relationships with God . Sharleen was given two hours to think this through . After all Debbie was a good mother to Sharleen and deep down she knew that . She knew if Debbie died her kids would lose it . They would be heartbroken that their grandmother is dead . By the time Sharleen got back to to Margret's house it was too late . The hex has already been set . This time Sharleen felt so bad she knew what had happened was a mistake she made out of anger . The hex was supposed to last up to 2 and half years to live dying a slow death . Debbie could break this since she had a relationship with the lord . Not to mention Debbie was already sick she just never told anyone . Debbie didn't think her own daughter would do a hex on her so she accepted her fate that she might be dying , but Debbie still prayed to the lord day and night never stopped . One of her prayers consisted of her saying to the lord "God I know my time is near , but I ask you to let your will be done lord with my life. And God if I shall perish I pray u give my grandkids and my great grandkids the answers they need to heal and destroy the demonic altars made upon this family". Debbie accepted the fact it might be her time to be with the lord . In 1966 , Debbie had just got done praying and decided to lay down in her bed . But suddenly she felt this sickness take over her . She had passed out on the floor and was found by Jerry's wife . So cherish and Jerry's wife went to the hospital to check on Debbie to see what sickness she had .

They were told by the doctor they don't  have a clue what this sickness is or where it can from but will try to run some more tests . Whenever you have a sickness / illness that a doctor can't identify this is definitely a sign of witchcraft or a demonic attack being done on you . When they heard this Debbie knew what this was . When Debbie was released from the hospital a couple days later she decided to pray and write to God , she wanted to leave her family especially Joicy a letter and also decided to finish her will . Sharleen was not included in the will at all . After this , Debbie felt competed she prayed to God to let her see the light and enter heaven , Debbie lived for over 80 years so to her what more of life could be lived? She seen her grandkids and great grandkids all grow up and she knew she would always be there in spirit for her family in the next generations . In the will she left Joicy a salon she got 5 years ago passed down that she didn't tell anyone and some designer equipment. She also left Jerry and his family her house 30 minutes from Joicy , she left cherish and Matthew some property she had bought so when they grow up they could build on it or do whatever with it . It was land a now deceased master family left her. She left all the money she had to Jerry and Joicy . In the last days of Debbie she spent time with Joicy and her kids and Jerry & his wife with  their child Justin . Just teaching them things and telling them some things they never knew . She really just wanted to bond with them before she passed. She wanted them to know it didn't matter if she had died she wanted them to make sure they remembered her and the importance of having God in their lives. The days are getting closer and Sharleen tried to visit her and Debbie took all the strength she had to throw a plate on the ground and she looked in sharleen's eyes and said "my child , my daughter , I love you so much you will never understand . I hated u for what u became but I had to learn before I leave this earth I can't go to glory without unforgivness. So what imma do is say this to your face. I forgive you for what you've done from the bottom of my heart I do. But right now I want to spend time with my family if you don't mind . I wish you the best in your life . Now GO!".

              Later that night Debbie was settling down , 12 months had went by the time which felt so fast . January 13th was midnight when Debbie was writing her final letter to her family. It revealed the very thing that was rumored about her daughter around town .
