Part 12 Chapter 13

11 months later , February of 1971. Cherry stood on the words she said to Matthew and he hadn't seen neither of his children since that day.  

In may of 1971 , Cherish and Brian had just bought their first house together and Brian was able to snag a new deal with more money than the last. Cherry woke up one morning and felt this sicknesss that made her have to throw up , she thought had the flu or a cold so she decided to stay home for the day. As the day went by , she experience so many other things like nausea , constantly going to the bathroom , and she also had weird cravings for different food. Cherry remembered all that she read about pregnancy and instantly started to remember she had miss her period cycle and that only led to one concussion. She got up to get dressed and headed to the local market to pick up five pregnancy tests to make sure she wasn't going crazy. After she took all five , cherish found out she was in fact pregnant. Cherish wanted to be excited but she remembered she had fertility issues and didn't want to be at risk of another miscarriage. Brian came home that night and cherish told him , and he was very
Excited but he noticed cherish wasn't too happy. Brian "you don't seem all too happy like I thought you would be , what's the matter?". Cherish "well you know I had some complications with the last pregnancy, I just don't want to get any bad news especially since we're so happy right now with you being in the NFL". Brian "baby I feel you , but didn't you tell me that God spoke to you? This might be the perfect time to believe and trust in him". Cherish agreed with him and decided to make a doctors appointment. When cherish and Brian went to the doctor, they were surprised to find out that Cherish was almost 7 weeks pregnant. Brian and Cherish were both happy , until the doctor had to remind her for safely reason regarding if she keeps the child she's at risk of health problems and a miscarriage. Later that night , Cherish had cried because she was scared what will happen and didn't want to lose another baby again. Something lead her to prayer and she prayed for God to help her through this pregnancy and promise her if she dies at the birth to save her baby. God already knew the outcome of this situation, but he wanted cherish and brian to go on a faith walk for the next 8 months together. As each week/month was passing by , cherish and Brian got up at the middle of the night to check the sheets to see if they could see any blood. The couple made it a routine to pray , go to sleep , and then set timer to wake up in the midnight to check the sheets. After two months had gone by , they realized them praying and then afterwards checking the sheets was not faith. They needed to understand that them giving that situation to God and letting go , letting the will of God be done is all the faith you need in this world. After a few months of contentiousness , cherish stepped out of her comfort zone and started planning a major baby shower.

Cherish felt this would help her overcome the anxiousness and the thought of a miscarriage and in some way , it did. Brian was constantly praying on his knees , until he realized the work is already done. Cherish and Brian were so focused on making sure nothing happened , that they didn't realize Cherish had past her first trimester in her pregnancy. Cherish and Brian went or the doctor while she was five months pregnant, and the doctor gave her some good news from the doctor. "Ma'am I don't know what happened but by the looks of this monogram , it's safe to say you'll be able to complete the rest of the pregnancy with no issues". Cherish and Brian were so happy the thing they had been waiting for and believing in God for , was finally here. All it took was a little faith and they got exactly what they wanted. The baby who they found out would be a girl , was expected to come in January of 1972.

    Matthew and blossom were still going strong and matthew hadn't seen his two children by cherry at all.  Matthew tried asking around about her and it was rumored she had left the city and moved to somewhere unknown in the state. Although blossom and Matthew were happy , it seems like he was never satisfied with one woman. He constantly went to strip clubs , stayed out late with friends , and would flirt with other girls. Blossom noticed his behavior started to change and this was the last thing she needed especially after finding out she was now pregnant. Matthew was much like his father and grandfather, stuck in his way and never really had a glimpse of self control or the respect for women in his life. Although he wasn't abusive towards any of his children's mothers , he still didn't respect them especially his marriage to cherry. Kevin had heard about his son being at the strip joint , sleeping with different women and he had to intervene. Apart of him felt guilty because he was the one who abandoned matthew and cherish because of the issues he had and didn't want to the same for Matthew's two kids with cherry. Kevin tried talking sense into a drunk matthew , but he wasn't listening. "listen son , if you don't get it together you're gonna lose custody to every child you have. They told me about you coming here every night with a different woman , are you not aware of the diseases that are in this world? You have to get it together before it's too late son" .
