Final Chapter: Chapter 14 part 2

Two years later , 1985 , Moslty all the kids were growing up in their teenage years , Matthew had his hands full with raising four teenagers. Debbie ,17 , David, 16 , Ariel, 15 , Jerry jr, 13. Matthew's and Jerry's community center was still going strong , although David has been acting out rapidly. Just last year for three months , he was in juvenile detention for stealing out of a convenient store with a couple of his friends who are bad influences. Matthew tries punishing him but it doesn't seem to be helping David , it seems to be making things worse. Jerry and maxi's daughter is now a college student at the same college her older cousin cherish had went to. Ariel had a lot of similarities to her father and mother , she was definitely feeling herself as she was going through puberty. She would sneak out the house , stay late after school to talk to the boys and etc. a couple weeks ago , David was jumped into a gang as initiation to be apart of it. When matthew was younger he was never into the gang lifestyle , it was shocking how intrigued his son was to everything. Cherry and matthew are struggling with what their son is becoming , not only is he joining gangs but he's doing terrible in school. Joicy tried telling them to put him in an alternative School but they didn't listen.

David was not stopping anytime soon until something major happen , and I fear something major was coming. One night , David and his friends went to a predominantly Caucasian neighborhood to attempt a burglary/robbery. Only one of them had a gun while David and another boy didn't , so they seen this house that was about a two story and a two car garage and wanted that to be the house they hit up. They didn't see any cars parked out front so they "assumed" no one was home. One of the friends smashed the window open and they immediately went for attack. They were all over the house looking for anything that could get from pawning or even money. The friend who had the gun walked up the stairs to the room to retrieve some of the belongings and as soon as he opened the door , they seen a couple on the phone with the police and the friend panic and shot the guy in his leg and shot the phone and told David and the other friend that they had to leave immediately. David didn't know what was going on , he heard a loud gunshot and didn't know if someone was shot or the gun just had went off. The couple's were catching up to the car and this turned into a high speed chase with the policemen. They were going fast and able to get rid of the cops but quickly forgot one of them left their glove and fingerprints all over the place in the house. David realized they might be good now , but the cops will definitely find them in no time.

A couple days later , the cops showed up to Cherry's house , looking for David and once David heard his name , he hurried up to run out the back of the house. The officers were now chasing down David while his hiding through the back streets , he tried jumping over the fence but eventually tore apart of his jeans and hurt himself after the fall. He was then caught by the cops and brought him in for questioning. The officers explained to him the victim that him and his friends shot is in critical conditions and if he dies that's automatically life in prison. The cops told David that if he didn't talk to, he would be the one taking the fall for everything. David was once again put into a situation of where he had to risk his life to do the right thing , but his mother and father were sitting beside him in the room so he had no choice but to do it , or go to jail for the rest of his life. David "I'm not the one who shot the man , it was one of my freinds. It was an accident my friend got nervous and the gun went off. Our only intention into going to the house was to see what we could take and pawn for money , we never wanted any one dead". The officers could see in david's face he wasn't lying so they decided to question the other boys. Both boys completely blamed David and were sticking by the story , if it wasn't for God david could've possibly faced lifetime imprisonment but the officers immediately knew the other two boys were lying. The trial had came up and this would be the first time the three boys and the couple would come in contact with each other. Luckily the husband did pull through , he was just have a hard time walking again. The boy who shot the man was sentenced to 5 years to the state prison and was responsible for shooting the victim , the second boy was sentenced to 2 years for being the getaway driver and accessory to the crime as well. Since David had told the truth and had immunity, the judge gave him one year of probation. Which means he couldn't go certain places and would have to be in the house before night time. Even though cherry and matthew were highly upset with david , they were happy the judge didn't give him a harsh sentence or face the same time as the boy who was the getaway driver. You would've thought David was gonna learn his lesson , but unfortunately he won't just yet.
