They're survivors in more ways than they care to admit.

**Lucifer's POV**

I walked down the driveway to a house with a woman in a suit. A giant White House was in front of us, "I know you said that you didn't want neighbors but the Cullens are really no trouble. It'd be like they're not even there,"

I nodded, "I was more concerned that if I had neighbors they would call the cops on me. You see I'm notorious in my group of friends for throwing the best parties which means that it'll be pretty loud."

"I'm not too sure that that'll be a problem. Their house is a couple hundred yards away from here," I nodded.

"Our plots do cross correct?" I asked as we reached the steps.

"Only a little. You should be fine and there is plenty of space in case you want to get like a dog or something," The realtor said with a smile.

------------------

I walked down the side of my property because I heard people playing vampiric baseball. Yes that is a thing. Suddenly they stopped and I sighed. Fuck my existence. I smiled as naturally as I could as I walked to the group- shit groups.

"I-I didn't see her coming yet," A black haired woman who couldn't be more than 4'11 said to a man who I knew as a confederate soldier.

"Hello," I started, "I mean no harm. I was just taking a walk and it seems our properties cross into each other." The relaxed their defensive crouches.

"You look so familiar," A man with blonde hair said. Adrian Cullen was his name. I recognized it from one of my soul's files. I looked at him with a smile.

"Well Adrian I'll let you figure that one out. Now I will be on my way," I started to turn but the a taller blonde called out before I could.

"What's your name?" He asked and I turned back.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I said and I walked back to my house.

------------------

I slipped my feet into black stilettos and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked casual but put together. I grabbed my bag and my sunglasses.

As I drove to the high school I thought about my social experiment. Are teenagers now smarter than teenagers in 1924? Probably not but we'll see.

I hopped out of my car and spotted some people. The same people I saw last night. I walked over, "Is it killing you that you don't know who or what I am yet?" I asked and they all hissed, "I'll take that as a yes. I'll see you in class," I hummed happily and walked into the office to get my schedule. I have Religious Studies first period. I sighed and walked to the room.

The teacher asked for my name once I got into the room and I saw a Cullen in the room. "Umm here," I have him the paper with my name, "But I prefer to be called Eve."

"You have a very rare name, Eve," the teacher said.

I laughed, "Thanks my father picked it." He raised an eyebrow, "I was born out of wedlock."

He nodded, "Alright class we have a new student. I'm sure you'll make her feel welcome. How would you like me to introduce you?" He asked me.

"I'd prefer if you didn't introduce me at all but I'm Eve Angelini. And no my lovely neighbor, you will not be finding out my real name," I gave the class a small smile before going to sit in the back left corner.

"I'm Alice," The Cullen said, "And my family already knows your name other than my father so yeah." I gave her a small smirk before turning toward the teacher.

------------------

Alice led me into the cafeteria and her siblings all raised an eyebrow. I smirked and Alice chuckled. I walked up to the lunch line and grabbed a green apple and a monster energy drink. Why do they even sell that here? I thought Michel Obama banned them.

Alice bought more food than me. It seems she's making more of an effort to look human than I am. She led me to her family's table and sat me down next to her. Her sister, Rosalie Hale (Royce Williams's file) looked at me with curiosity. I laughed and said, "Fire away gorgeous."

She laughed and tucked a hair behind her ear before asking, "Do they talk about me?"

I nodded, knowing exactly who she meant, "They mostly scream slurs about you at the top of their lungs as my demons torture them." She looked satisfied with that answer.

"So you're literally the devil," The giant hunk of vampire, Emmett McCarthy (His father's file), asked.

I nodded as I bit into the apple, "The one and only."

The mind reader was the one that spoke next, "How do you know our names and everything about us?"

"Files Edward. Your father has a pretty big one," I replied as I looked at my perfectly manicured hands. Alice looked at me with eyes full of wonder, "Don't be afraid gorgeous, I'm open to any question."

"My creator," she started and I shook my head.

"He's up with my father. I only get a couple of those files," Edward looked confused.

"Our souls aren't damned?" He asked and I laughed.

"Not at all. You guys have some of the purest souls I've ever sensed," I gave them a huge smile, "Well other than those two blonde brothers last night."

"That'd be our father and uncle," Jasper Whitlock (His father's file), said. I looked at him with sympathy.

"Your past doesn't define you Jasper. If you didn't fight you would've been jailed our killed. You made the best choice," He shook his head, "And with Maria, you thought you were in love. You did it because she made you think that she loved you. And you left at the right time. None of those souls blame you for killing them. Neither do the humans. Please mon ange noir do not blame yourself," He gave me a small smile, "That goes for all of you. Don't think your past defines you. Remember the past and apply lessons you learned in the present. Think about the future. The past is the past for a reason," They now all had smiles on their faces.

"And here I was thinking you'd be a bitch," Edward muttered.

"I'm really not as bad as they make me out to be. I was just a young g girl trying to get to be loved when I was banished." Alice leaned over and hugged me. I froze as her hands landed on my back. She pulled away with an apology and I waved her off.

"You should come over sometime so we all can get to know you better. I know Carlisle will want to," Rosalie said and they all stiffened a laugh. They knew something I don't.

"Okay," I agreed, feeling happier and more myself for the first time in 100 years.
