**Two Months Later**

I sighed as I woke up. Maze was leaning against my bedroom door. "Where's Prince Charming?" She asked and I rolled my eyes.

Time slowed down and we both groaned. "Lucifer," My father said from the Heavens.

"Yes father?" I said as he showed up in my room.

"Your demons need attention, my armies can only do so much," He said and my eyebrows furrowed.

"Fuck," I growled as I got out of bed. I walked into my closet and threw on a black backless dress and let my wings out. "Maze call everyone. It's time for D day," I said and my father looked up.

"I'll send my armies," He said.

"No need. We've had to do this many times over the years. Our army should suffice," I said, "Tell Carlisle I love him. Just in case."

Maze looked over at me, "Lucifer, you don't think we won't make it?"

"I think it's a possibility," I said as tears rolled down my face, "But if we do, I will lock all the souls away and never repopulate demons."

Maze was crying now, "Lucifer I don't want to die."

"I don't want to either Maze," I said and my father sighed.

"Lucifer, you weren't meant for this," He said.

"But that's how it worked out. I wasn't good enough for you and you sent me away. Now this is how your fucked up plan for me ends," I said and my voice cracked.

"Lucifer you were good enough for me," he said.

"YOU VILLAINIZED ME!" I yelled. "YOU FUCKING MADE ME A MONSTER! WHAT KIND OF FATHER DOES THAT!"

"Lucifer—," my father started.

I cut him off, "Save it." I snapped my fingers.

Flames surrounded us. I stood next to Maze and Rhys who looked straight ahead. I waisted my life trying to not to be my father when in the end, I was just like him. I pushed everyone close to me away and when I found my soulmate, everything went to Hell.

Carlisle will die when I do. I hated that it was true. Fuck, once he goes that entire family will fall apart.

Demons came running at us and I slowed time. They looked around as they froze and the rest of us ran at them. I beheaded about three at once and my arms were covered in black blood. A demon bit my arm as I turned into my true form and snapped his neck. I hissed at the pain and Maze looked over at me. Just then a demon went at her neck and snapped it off, "Maze!" I shrieked. She was one of my oldest friends. The first demon I ever created. And I brought her down with me.

I looked at the demon who beheaded her, all I saw was red. He killed someone who was like a sister to me. I wrangled him with my magic as I beheaded three more demons. Rhys was throwing bodies into the fire and I looked around me. No demons were left except for the original thirteen— now twelve. I fell to my knees next to Maze. Rhys put a hand on my shoulder. "We're bury her with her parents," He murmured.

"I should've never damned her to be like this. I should have let her live her life," I sobbed.

"She lived a better and longer life with us Luci," Genesis said, tears streaming down her face.

"A moment of silence for our dead homie," Larissa said. We all bowed our heads and took a moment to remember Maze. She was a honorable woman, brave to the last second, and will forever be remembered as a hero who fought alongside her best friends.

I looked up, "Seal all of the souls in their respective areas and get your things from your houses. We're going to the mortal realm." Everyone nodded. "Can you all promise me this?" I started and they nodded, "Never leave me?"

"Of course Lucifer," They all said with sad smiles. I took a rock and cut all of our hands.

"Forever and always," we said as we pressed all of our palms together and Larissa muttered a blood bonding spell.

I walked into my now too empty house. Maze's presence always lightened the house. And now she's gone. Oh god, I can't believe she's gone. Wait, did I just say the G word? Oh fuck no.

With tears running down my face and limbs still covered with demon blood, I made my way over to the Cullens. Bella found out about them a couple of weeks ago and she and Edward started going out. I knocked on the door and with heavy hands and Esme answered it. "Lucifer, what happened?" She asked, her tone worried. When I didn't answer her, she pulled me up the stairs to where everyone-including Bella-was sitting.

"Carlisle," I called out, my tone broken, "Baby I l-lost Maze." His eyes softened and he wrapped me into a hug. "I c-can't believe I lost her. She was there, and then she was gone," I sobbed and Jasper choked back one of his own, feeling my emotions. "She was my first ever creation. She was like a sister to me. And I brought her down with me. I'm the reason she's dead."

"Lucifer don't say that," Carlisle murmured. Bella looked at Edward and his family whose chests were heaving from dry sobs.

"I should've been who my father mentioned for me to be. I should have just fucking followed the rules," I sobbed and Carlisle kissed my head.

"I don't understand," Bella murmured to Edward, "Who is Maze?"

"My best friend who I took for granted," I said and she looked at me. She didn't know about me. Now is a great time to tell her. I let go of Carlisle and slowly walked over to Bella, "Have you ever read the Bible Bella?"

"I read a couple chapters when I was young," she said and I nodded.

"Do you know who the devil is?" She nodded, "I'm the devil Bella. I'm as old as time. I was the one who created vampires and the one who can kill with a single look," She flinched as I got closer, "And some of my demons thought it would be fun to overthrow me." I laughed dryly, tears still running, "And that ended in them dying. Now my first ever demon, Maze, died in a battle that was held in Hell this morning. And you have no idea how fucking much I hate myself for damning her soul."

"Then why did you do it?" She asked and my fist tightened into a ball.

"My father kicked me out of Heaven. I've resented him for years. And I've dedicated my entire existence to not to be like him. But in the end I was just like him. A soulless, bastard who hurts everyone I get close to," my tone became angrier by the second.

Katherine sat on the stairs with a horrified look and my eyes softened. I scared her. I ran a hand down my face as my wings ripped out of my back. I just can't seem to get anything night these days. I walked out of the house without another word and jumped into the sky.

I'm not afraid of loving, I'm afraid of losing.
