Long time no see

I walked up the driveway to the Cullen's house and Alice was outside waiting for me. I smiled at her, "Hey."

She laughed, "Hey is all you're going to say? How come you didn't tell us you were friends with Esme!"

Esme! That was her name! I laughed, "I couldn't remember her name." Alice rolled her eyes and brought me inside. Jasper was leaning against the wall with a smirk, "Lose the smirk Farm Boy."

He laughed, "I thought I was Cowboy."

"Well I can't call you a Confederate soldier now can I?" He tensed and I laughed, "My point exactly. Now where's my best friend at?" I asked as Esme walked into the room. I reached my arms out for a hug, "Long time no see momma bear."

She sighed happily and relaxed in my embrace, "Likewise Luci." I smiled and let her go. I dabbed Emmett up and Alice brought me upstairs. Adrian nodded to me and Edward smiled as I walked in.

"Wow it's been a long time since someone has smiled as I walked into a room," I said to him as I ruffled his hair.

"Well you are Satan," I scoffed at his comment.

"How dare you, I am the ruler of Hell and will not be called a name that no one calls me anymore," I said as I ruffled his hair.

He grumbled something about his hair and returned to his piano. He started to play Amazing Grace and my head started pounding and my skin burning. Before I had time to control myself, my hand reached for my chest.

Edward snapped his head towards me and stopped playing. I took a deep breath and felt hands on my shoulders. I turned my head and saw Jasper. "Are you okay? I felt your pain when he started playing," He asked.

"Complication with being the Devil," I said and he nodded. I sighed, "It's funny how a song they play a funerals hurts me. Almost pathetic," I gave him a small smile and looked at Esme. "Where the fuck have you been Miss. I-jumped-off-of-a-cliff?" I said and she laughed.

"Under the radar," she said and I rolled my eyes.

"I have the best radar in the world but whatever you say," She laughed and I dropped the subject. "I passed your message on to Royce by the way Rose. He wasn't too happy from what I heard," I said and she smirked.

"Come meet Carlisle!" Alice excitedly said. I gave her a questioning look but went with her anyway. Why would he like me? He was the good twin out of the two. My demons and I always had bets about him.

I looked around the house as we passed things. A giant frame of graduation caps in all colors was on the wall as we walked up to the third floor. I laughed and Alice grinned. We walked to a door with a wooden crucifix on it. It must of been Carlisle and Adrain's father's. I didn't dare run my finger over it. Alice opened the door and an angel of a vampire looked at us.

"You must be Eve," He said as he got up.

I smiled, "You can address me as Lucifer if you wish Dr. Cullen."

He smiled back, "If I'm calling you Lucifer, I'd feel better if you called me Carlisle." I nodded.

"Quick question, did you have a thing for Edward's mother?" I asked and he nodded sheepishly. I laughed once and a ball of fire gave me a wad of cash. I pocked the cash and ignored the questioning stares. "You have a lovely home," I commented and he looked around.

"It is pretty great," he replied and Alice not so secretly walked out of the room. We laughed and I looked around at the paintings.

"You know my favorite thing about the mortal realm is art," I said as I focused on one of what I could only assume as 1640s to '50s London.

"Oh?" He asked and I nodded.

"It's just something that has always stuck out to me. Like no matter how long the world keeps spinning, this never changes. And art is something you can always interpret how you see it. This painting right here could be the London of your youth or it could be a settlement in Delaware. And you'd never know what the artist wanted it as," He walked over and stood next to me.

"I guess you're right," He murmured and I laughed.

"I usually am," I said and he chuckled. I grinned and he laughed even more.

"I shouldn't keep you from Rosalie. You two were supposed to go get your nails done right?" I nodded.

The plan was; get manis, go to some shops, and then go out drinking. "Yeah. And then we're gonna- no I'm not gonna tell you that," He shook his head with a smile. That fucking smile. I turned to him and he smiled wider. "It was a pleasure to meet you Carlisle," I said with a smile.

"Pleasure to meet you to Lucifer," he took my hand and his touch burned. He brushed his lips against my knuckles, his smile never faded but his eyes were elsewhere.

I locked my bedroom door behind me and let out my wings and horns. It had been a while since I released them all at the same time. It was relaxing.

My mind wondered as I threw this week's laundry into the washer. Even the devil needs to do laundry every week. I took off my heels and threw them into my closet and put on some old sweats. I closed my wings into my back so I could take off my top and put on a comfier bra.

Carlisle's hand burned my skin. That couldn't be true. Demons don't get soulmates. We don't have a fucking soul. Great. Now I have to do research on myself.

I sighed as I sat on my bed with my face in my hands. Even if we were soulmates, he'd never want me. I'm the first villain ever. People fucking say my name as a slur. His father burned innocent people because he thought I possessed them.

I whipped my tears. It's funny how "I hate the world I was brought into" turns into "I hate who I'm rumored to be" and then turns into "I hate myself."

I laid down on my stomach and felt the sudden urge to break something. I ignored it. I closed my eyes and my wings wrapped themselves around me. And with that, I went into a deep, dreamless sleep.
