A/n: So, I know that Dark of the Moon takes place approximately three years after Revenge of the Fallen, but in order to keep the flow of the story coherent to the characters, I've decided to have the DOTM events happen one year after the events of ROTF.

A year. It had been a full year since the failure at Stonehenge. In the time of that year, I traveled the country, following any leads that I could. However, continuously, I came up empty. My dreams were scarce; Primus seemingly going quiet until I found what, and who, I was looking for. Uncle Sam and Cas continued their search as well, but also came up empty.

Everything had come to a complete dead end.

William had taken some well-needed time off to spend it with his family, and I had bought an apartment with Sam with the money I had earned from my shop in Chicago and some allowance from N.E.S.T. The apartment was grand and big enough to house Bumblebee and Baby. However, they stayed inside of a small parking garage next door, awaiting their next orders and hanging out while staying low when Bee wasn't needed for missions. I made this apartment my base, doing any research and keeping track of the Decepticon activity, trying to see if there were any patterns that would be significant to me.

In a way, I still worked for N.E.S.T. They had tried to keep me in Diego Garcia, but I refused to stay cooped up on the island. I loved the Autobots with all my heart, but I couldn't stay with them all the time. I couldn't handle being around such strong energies, especially Optimus'. However, Uncle Sam and Castiel didn't have an issue staying with them for a while.

For three whole months, they stayed until they realized that the trail had gone cold. Then, it was back to Kansas. Often, they called and gave me any information that might be useful to me, but most of it was null. The only sound pattern that I had found was that Decepticon activity had gone down tremendously after my outburst at Stonehenge.

The Cybertronian DNA in me continued to grow. CAT Scans done at Diego Garcia's infirmary had found that my bones had begun to fill up with a strange metal, causing my skeleton to become denser and stronger. I was practically a walking Wolverine just minus the claws.

Though, having claws would be a nice touch.

The smell of hot coffee and food invaded my senses as a cup and plate came from behind me to sit in front of me. I smiled softly as Sam greeted me with a small grin on his lips.

"One coffee and a McGriddle for the lady."

Sam's hand rest on my shoulders as he looked over my notes, asking.

"Did you find anything new?"

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair before taking a sip of the coffee. I blanched at the gross taste before shaking my head, taking another sip. I definitely needed the caffeine.

"Nothing. Though, I've been tracking any and all Decepticon activity. Ever since Stonehenge, they've really backed off. Either they're scared of me, or they're planning something. I've been monitoring it as closely as I can."

Sam sighed slightly before urging.

"You should take a break. You've been at it since four in the morning. Don't you have work today?"

I groaned, letting my head fall down as Sam reminded me. A new voice asked.

"Why the hell you working for those skinbags anyway? You're a warrior goddess! You should be kicking ass on the field!"
