After a little while of arguing back and forth with Sam, we had successfully gotten some food. While the hibachi had been fun, I wasn't a huge fan of the amount of people that were allowed to sit at the actual grill. Sam had agreed to just order and get to-go boxes, so when our food was done, we paid and left. Currently, Sam and I were sitting on the couch and watching TV while Brains and Wheelie were goofing off in the corner. My phone vibrated from beside me, catching both Sam and I off guard.
'Need you here asap. When can you leave?'
I sighed and Sam perked up.
"What is it?"
"My Uncle is getting pushy is all."
Sam became quiet before he murmured, looking away.
"Earlier, you told me that Will was wanting to see you...I even saw the message too, but now you're saying it's your uncles. Are you...hiding something from me?"
Shit. I totally forgot that he had seen the message from Will as well when the man initially texted me. I bit my lip before my shoulders sagged.
"Will didn't want me to tell you because he can't exactly relay the info to me either. I didn't want you to worry."
Sam glanced at me, his expression annoyed as he crossed his arms.
"No, no, don't let me get in the way of your job with the autobots."
I frowned deeply, asking him incredulously.
"Seriously, Sam? Is that how we're doing this?"
I stood up and placed my hands on my hips as I paced in front of him, shaking my head.
"I can't help that I'm forced to answer Will's every beck and call. I'm the number one person on the FBI's radar, as well as N.E.S.T. I can't just not answer or else we'll have the whole freaking nation looking for me. You want a normal life, but I'm anything from normal. I'm sorry that I didn't want to worry you."
Sam frowned deeply, throwing his hands up in the air.
"It just doesn't make sense to me. If it's so dangerous, why don't they come for me too? I should be working with the autobots, not here working as the freaking mailman."
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Sam, you know it's too dangerous. Everyone that works with the Autobots is risking their lives."
Sam scoffed, shaking his head at me.
"And you're not? You turn into some freaking beacon of power and you're invincible or something?"
I glared at Sam as he glared at me, and I hissed out.
"You think I wanted this to happen? You think I wanna get sucked up by N.E.S.T every fucking time something happens that they don't understand, thinking that maybe I dreamed about it? 'Oh, let's ask (Y/n) and pluck her up from the life she created with Sam because we're clueless and can't ask Optimus'. I don't want to have to deal with this shit when I'm trying to make sure my father isn't fucking dead!"
I was screaming by the time I was done talking, my voice hoarse and chest heaving, and Sam looked surprised. A blue glow lit the room, and I groaned softly as a sharp pain hit me within my eye, making me cover my face and back away. The feeling of Sam's hand on my shoulder only made me lash out, smacking his hand away as I snapped.
