Acquainted - The Weeknd
"Shoot the ball!" Klay heard, as he made a three. It was the off season and Klay was practicing and improving his skills. Just because the season was complete didn't mean he could slack off and not continue pushing himself to the limits. Klay was always like this, he never knew when to quit and give his mental and physical a rest.
Watching as the ball floated mid-air, the ball spun around the rim, before falling into the net. Klay ran while holding his signature three pointer pose. Klay's expertise was shooting and that's why he owned that position.
"Another three!" Steph yelled, as he pretended to wipe off Klay's shoulders. The boys continued their practice for a few more minutes before ultimately calling quits. They all sat in the locker room, attempting to cool down and rehydrate. Klay had a strict and intense diet, even during off season he didn't splurge or get off track. Klay drank the water from the custom bottle, and began eating the protein bar.
Draymond scrolled on his phone and then spoke, "Oh shit, Nobu hosting an event tonight. We could pull up for an hour or two." He suggested while eyeing the other players. Some seemed more interested than others. Klay hated the party environment. He would rather stay in and basically rot in bed. Parties weren't exciting to him, and all he did was sit and watch everyone around him enjoy the event.
Klay thought before speaking, "I ain't really feeling the club tonight." Draymond smacked his lips and said, "Nigga, you ever feeling the club. Let me had said let's have a movie night and niggas would've been hype as fuck." Steph and Jordan laughed a little, making Klay look in their direction.
Jordan put his hands up in defense, "I mean, Dray gotta point. You gotta loosen up, and have some fun."
Draymond nodded his head in agreement, "So you coming right?" He asked Klay once again.
"I guess." Klay hesitantly responded, already regretting his decision. Maybe tonight would be different, in all honesty, Klay could use a break from the usual practice and sleep routine.
As the guys left the gym, they split up in separate directions– deciding to meet up later tonight. Draymond described this night out as a celebration for getting through another tough season.
As soon as Klay entered the house, he was greeted by his dog, Rocco. "Hey boy." Klay stated to the excited animal. They both headed into the kitchen. Rocco watched intently as Klay poured the dog food into the bowl, then filling the other with bottled water. Rocco wouldn't drink tap water since he rarely saw his owner do it. Now that the dog was occupied, Klay found his way up the steps into his closet.
He was a very simple man. He didn't dress fancy, or constantly wear designer clothes. Klay was fine with the simple things in life. He didn't own a thousand pairs of pants, or thousand dollar shoes. Klay's wardrobe consisted mainly of sweats and basketball shorts. He was perfectly content with this. Klay wasn't materialistic and he preferred minimalist styles. His home was evidence of this claim. He lived in the hills, in a gated community, but there wasn't much to protect in his home.
