It was time for Klay and Dearra to head back to California today. Dearra would have loved to stay longer, but Klay needed to get back to therapy and attending practices. Although he wasn't actually playing, he didn't want to fall too far behind on their new plays.
"You all packed?" He asked Dearra while he zipped his luggage closed.
She applied her lip gloss before replying, "Yeah, I'm ready whenever you are."
The two had said bye to his parent's yesterday, so they could have an easy departure today. They both carried their bags down the stairs, and placed them by the front door.
Klay hugged Kelcie and Logan, "Klay, we have a surprise." Kels told him as they separated from the hug.
Klay's eyebrows rose, "A surprise?"
Kelcie and Logan looked at each other then replied, "We're moving to Cali in six months!" She exclaimed with joy.
Immediately Klay smiled, "Stop playing." he said out of excitement.
"I'm not, I was offered a better position and I said yes!" Kelcie told him. You could tell she was very excited for the new life adventure.
"I love that for you, Kels. I'm proud of you." Klay said sincerely.
After they talked more about the move, Klay and Dearra made their way to the airport. The ride was filled by the radio station playing a series of songs. Dearra sang some lowly while Klay just took in the sweet melody.
Klay quickly made his way towards the jet. Like last time, the workers loaded their luggage and once everything was set, the plane began its flight through the country.
Klay sat in the private bedroom. Dearra did the same while writing in her journal about the mini trip with Klay. She wrote some of everything in her journal, and hoped she never lost it.
She was happy she got to meet his family, and she couldn't wait to fly back down. Dearra was probably more excited about Kelcie moving than Klay was. Without realizing it Dearra started drawing hearts around the paper of her journal.
"Klay?" She questioned, while turning to face him.
He immediately replied, "Hm?"
"When we land, are you staying the night?" She asked him, while toying with the necklace he brought her.
"Yeah, I can." He stated, while turning on his side. They both enjoyed laying on their side, so they could always face each other.
Dearra looked him in the eyes as he did the exact same. Her eyes never once left his set. Her hand rested on his cheek– something she did often. He leaned forward, laying a soft kiss on her lips.
