ego talkin' - Saint Harison

Klay was currently at Dearra's house since she didn't pack when he had told her to. They both were going back to his hometown to spend some time with his family. When he told Dearra to pack her luggage days ago she didn't of course.

Dearra held her vlogging camera in Klay's direction, "And he's being mean for no reason." She said while recording him. He just straight faced the camera, not giving it a reaction.

"Dearra.." He said, making her turn the camera back on her as she packed her clothes.

She told the audience one last thing before cutting it off, "Alright, I'll see y'all when we land."

Once he saw the camera was off, he began speaking, "Why did you wait until the day we leave to pack?" he asked her.

She shrugged her shoulders, "Klay you're being dramatic, relax." She told him, although she knew he hated being late anywhere.

After another hour, she was entirely packed and locking up the condo. Klay carried her luggage and bag down the hallway to the elevator. He knew he was probably doing the most, but he asked her to pack days ago to avoid this.

She noticed he was still upset, so she reached up, placing a kiss on his cheek, "Don't be mad at me, baby."

He knew she had his soft spots memorized, he tried not to react to the loving actions, but she continued inching towards his lips. Just as she was about to kiss him, the elevator doors opened.

"Come on." He told her. She sat in the passenger seat on her phone, while he drove to the airport that was still forty minutes away. He knew she wasn't talking to him, because he was upset with her.

Eventually, they made it to the private jet. The two went inside, meanwhile the workers loaded up their luggage and the pilot made sure everything was smooth.

About an hour into the flight, Klay was catching up on emails and read a few pages from his most recent book. Dearra, however, was catching up on the sleep she missed this morning because of a doctor's appointment.

She slept the entire flight, so when they landed, Klay had to wake her up, "Mama, get up." he tapped her thigh. Dearra was the hardest sleeper he knew.

She stirred in her sleep, "Stop touching me." Klay didn't reply, instead going to pack up his belongings.

She sat up from the couch, pushing her fingers through her disheveled hair. Klay was now over them being late to their flight, but now Dearra had developed an attitude instead.

Klay took the rental car keys from the random man at the airport. He made sure everything was packed into the car before driving to his sister's house.

The two could've stayed at his mother's house, but she would've been overbearing and he didn't need that. His sister and her husband had an extra bedroom, so they would be staying there.

"You hungry?" He asked her, and she didn't reply. Klay didn't want to argue or irritate her more, so he just went straight to his sister's house.

As Klay parked in Kelcie's driveway he spoke, "You ready?" she shook her head yes. She grabbed the smaller bags, while he grabbed the heavier ones.

Klay pressed the doorbell waiting on someone to answer. The door swung open showing Kelcie, "Klay! I missed you!" His sister said with a smile.

Klay smiled back, "I missed you too, Kels."

Kelcie finally noticed Dearra behind him, "Hi, I'm his sister, Kelcie. But everyone calls me Kels." She motioned for a hug and Dearra took it with no problem, "I'm Dearra! I'm glad to finally meet you."

Everyone entered the house, and the couple went upstairs to drop off their bags. They shuffled around the room not speaking to each other. Klay was sick of it already, "How long are you gonna not talk to me?" he asked her.

She rolled her eyes, "The same amount of time you had an attitude with me. I said I was sorry, and you still had a attitude."

Klay now realized he probably was being extra mean to her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." He apologized, hoping the girl would speak to him again.

"Okay." She replied, then left the room.

Dearra, Klay, Kels, and Logan– Kelcie's husband, all sat at the dining room table enjoying the dinner they prepared.

"This is so good." Dearra said, and Klay knew she was just trying to be nice, because the food barely had any seasonings.

"Thank you, I've been trying to learn." Logan replied with a smile.

"If it makes you feel better, I barely know how to prepare food too." Dearra sympatheized, and this made Kels and Logan laugh.

Kelcie spoke, "You're lying! I know you can cook girl."

"I can cook simple things, but like a Thanksgiving dinner? Hell no." She replied while sipping from the cup.

"That shit seems like a literal nightmare."

Logan said, "We can't be the new adults."

"So, how did you two meet each other?" Kelcie asked them, and Dearra spoke up first.

"We actually met at a club in Cali at the bar. I gave him my instagram, and Klay just kept going from there honestly."

Logan and Kelcie truly looked interested, "Yeah, Klay really can't take no for an answer." Kels said to Dearra.

Klay smacked his lips, "Kels."

She laughed, "What? It's the truth."

Soon everyone finished dinner and went their own separate ways. Dearra and Klay took their showers and they currently laid in the bed. She was scrolling through tiktok and he just laid staring at the ceiling.

"Dearra.." He started with, noticing she locked her phone.

"Hm?" She said softly, making him feel even worse for his actions.

He rolled over to his side, placing a kiss on her forehead, "I'm sorry, please talk to me."

Her hand reached up, rubbing his cheek, "Don't do that again. I'm sorry I waited until the last minute to pack and made us late."

He kissed her to end their little disagreement. She kissed him back, placing her leg over his waist to pull him closer.

"I've wanted to kiss you all day." He confessed in a low tone. She let her nails trail down his back turning the skin a bright red color, "You could've joined the mile high club, but you slept the whole time."

She looked up him as she bit her lip, "We still gotta fly back don't we?"
