Swim Away - Seinabo Sey

The new season had officially started and Klay was prepared physically, but not so much mentally. Before he met Dearra, all his time was dedicated to basketball. However, this offseason he didn't spend as much time preparing himself in all contributing aspects.

Since he and Dearra had taken the next step in whatever you would call their situation, he's been reflecting on her attitude towards him lately.

He wondered if she may have regretted having sex with him, Klay specifically remembered how quiet she became after. Their interaction had become limited since, but Klay blamed it on the every day practice he had to prepare for the first game.

He didn't regret anything, and would do it again without a second thought. Dearra just didn't give off the same energy. He worried if everything was now ruined. Would she revert back to her closed off self and become reserved again?

"Klay! Lock in." Steph yelled, the players were in the middle of a scrimmage. Their coaches just wanted to see what the boys would have to work on over the next few weeks.

The reminder from his homebody made Klay clear his thoughts and focus on the task at hand. Basketball was like a sixth sense to Klay honestly. He had been fascinated with sports very early on in his life and played as many as he could growing up. This made a flashback come to mind.

"Alexander, you can't play every sport." Klay's mother said to the growing boy. He released an irritated sigh, "But.. but I want to play basketball and baseball!" Klay replied back.

His mother said, "And you want to run track. You can do two, but not every sport the school offers."

Klay understood his mothers point, but he just wanted to try everything possible. Klay was a very optimistic child growing up, and his parents were always supportive of him. The two never missed a single game, and were constantly the loudest parents in the crowd. Whenever he had children, Klay wanted to be just like his own parents, loud and loving.

Eventually, Klay talked his mom into letting him play most of the sports offered. As you could assume, basketball stuck with him. Klay then went off to college, and was recruited by the Golden State Warriors. Since then he has only played for this team.

"Three!" Klay yelled, as he made the shot into the net. Just then the buzzer went off indicating the end of the game.

"It's gone be a good ass season if we keep playing like this." Draymond said, as the boys walked into the locker room. Klay nodded in agreement while drinking from the water bottle.

Steph pulled Klay back by his shirt, "You was a bit lost out there today, you good man?" Steph asked his friend.

Klay held a confused look, but then replied, "Yeah, yeah. I'm good." This wasn't the most convincing tone to Steph, but he decided to let it go.
