Lando POV

The first week I was in Chiddingfold, I was bored out of my mind - I played on my simulator, I streamed, I kept up with my fitness in the garden, swum in the indoor pool and otherwise stayed indoors eating pasta. That is all I did. I went out to the MTC a couple of times, but mostly just stayed indoors.

I wouldn't say I'm unhappy about Zak's decision to have me spend a quiet winter here, but I miss my friends, I miss partying and I miss having a life.

I understand the decision, I've had a shit two seasons. Oscar, my teammate has finished above me twice in a row, which is embarrassing when I have Mclaren's longest contract. My manager keeps telling me I'm at risk of losing my seat, I hadn't believed it at first but after this last season maybe I saw some truth behind it.

I've not exactly been wild over the past two years, but I guess since my ex-girlfriend and I broke up, I've been going out with my friends more and people seem to have more of an interest in my life. I can't seem to talk to a girl without the internet assuming she is my new girlfriend.

I'm glad to have some time out of Monaco, I am good friends with Charles Leclerc another one of the drivers, but his girlfriend is my ex's best friend. They only know each other because of me and her, and as much as I love them, and love that they're happy together, it does bring back memories from my past relationship.

She moved out of the apartment we shared the day we broke up and I haven't seen her since. She blocked me on everything as well, so I haven't even seen if she's been okay. As far as her best friend told me, she moved away, I'm not entirely sure where.

I let out a groan, this is what this tiny village is doing to me, making me rethink the past. Something about being here is making me think of her.

I open Instagram and the first thing I see is my friends in Dubai, they flew out there for most of the winter. They've been partying, out on yachts, and I've been here.

I decide to get in my car and head into the centre of the village, I can't imagine there is much there, but it's worth a visit at least.

I drive for two minutes when I reach the centre, it really is a small village. There is a pub on the corner, the Swan Inn - I think about popping in, meeting the locals and seeing what is going on. But from the size of the village, I can't imagine there is much so I decide against it.

There is also a cafe, 'The Eras Cafe' - it is very clearly Taylor Swift themed, their window display has the words 'I've got a blank cake baby, and I'll write your name'. I laugh, decide to park up and take a picture. Liana is a Taylor Swift fan, so I'll show her next time I see her. It makes me think of my ex-girlfriend again, Raegan. We had tickets to go and watch The Eras Tour together in 2024, but we broke up, I sent Liana the tickets so I have no idea if she went or not.

I notice there is a general store as well, deciding I should probably eat something other than just pasta - I park my car in the bay on the side of the road and go inside the store.

Raegan POV

I'm counting the stock in the cafe on a Tuesday afternoon, whilst Silvia deep cleans the tables. It is a lot quieter here than it was in Little Britaly - but it gives me time to experiment and bake more.

We have the same few customers come in regularly, and then we do get tourists - people who were a fan of the bakery in Monaco come in, some are British people looking for cannoli they ate in Monaco. When we first opened, there were still a lot of Mclaren fan girls who would come and visit - but that was a long time ago now, and it has settled down. We still get a few pop in, but otherwise not many.
