I finish the second film I've watched this evening, it's The Holiday - you know the one where Jude Law looks REALLY good. It's almost December, it's like a right of passage as soon as it gets colder in England, and there is something about watching The Holiday whilst living in a small village that makes it seem even more Christmassy. I'm just waiting for Jude Law to knock on my front door.

I let out a sigh, and get up to make myself a cup of tea in the kitchen. I spot the clock on the oven, that reads 7pm, gosh it's still early. It's a Friday night. Life is a lot more chilled in England than it ever was in Monaco, there is no running round a paddock and drinking wine with my friends, there is no spontaneous nights out or dinners out. I mean, Hugo and I used to go out for dinner a lot more than we do now, he has to work a lot because of his job in the bank.

Hugo is actually on a business trip at the moment, so he is away until Sunday, so I'm home alone for the weekend.

It's weekends like this when I miss being in Monaco, I can't just call Liana and ask what she's up to, whether she wants to come over. I'm not sure what I would be doing if I was in Monaco, Liana would be at Charles' so I'd probably still be sat on my own drinking tea and feeling sorry for myself.

I decide to call Liana anyway, maybe she wants to watch a film with me over video call.

"Hello Rae," she smiles down the phone at me. I seriously mean it when I say she's had a permanent smile on her face for the entire time since New Years Eve a few years ago, I've literally never seen her as happy.

"Hello you, you alright?" I ask, I can sense that she is distracted by something.

"Yeah yeah, I'm good, how are you?"

"I'm alright, I'm a bit bored, Hugo is away on a business trip this weekend so I'm just home alone."

"A business trip on a weekend?" She asks, the smile on her face drops and she stares down the phone confused.

"Erm yeah, the past couple months they've been asking him to cover different bits on weekends."

She gives me a sympathetic look, "Oh Raegan," she sighs.

"What?" I ask confused as to the sympathy on her face.

"Nothing, nothing, it's fine."

"Okay... anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to watch a film with me, virtually? There's that new one on Netflix everyone is talking about..."

"Oh I'm so sorry Rae, I can't. We've dropped Cannoli off at Fernando's, he's dog sitting for us tonight, and Charles is taking me for dinner, then we're meeting everyone for drinks. I'm so sorry,"

Well, bummer.

"Sorry police," I put on a jokingly serious face at her, "No worries, no need to apologise! Have a good night, no getting into trouble,"

"Thank you! You too, I have to go, Charles is waiting for me in the shower,"

"Ugh gross, speak later, love you,"

"Love you bye!" She quickly hangs up, and my house falls into silence again.

I fall back onto the sofa, and let out a groan. One of the best things about living in the countryside is that my house is detached, so I can scream as loud as I want and no one will complain, not that I've ever had any issues with that, but it helps when I'm frustrated.

I pull my phone out and decide to text Hugo again, I say again because I've text him a few times but he's probably busy with work.
