"so saturday we leave for LA" nick wrote down the first thing on the page titled "group trip management"
"we pick up all of you guys for the airport at 2" nick said pointing the pen towards nate,alahna and devin
"devin has a car" matt shrugged nicks way
devin frowned sitting up straight
"what do you mean?" chris asked
"well it'll be easier if she just came by herself to the airport" matt answered casually
everyone on the table confused
the people who know about his feelings towards devin even more confused then devin
"devin ignore him,my brother's on crack" nick said right before he continued writing down something else on the paper
devin looked in matts direction,she wasn't mad
more like worried.

she picked her lips apart,thinking about this.
"we can meet up tomorrow at ours to discuss more,now we have class" nick said packing his stuff and getting up
he was followed by everyone else leaving matt and devin on the table
"why're you even coming with us ? go spent time with boyfriend" matt says raising an eyebrow,grabs his bag and leaves
"what the fuck...?" devin says inaudible to matt whose walking to class rn.

"where the fuck is devin?"chris asks as the groups walks to the van at the end of the school day
"her cars right there" nate spots devins car right beside the van in the parking lot
"did anyone see her walking in or out of class?" nick asks
"no last i saw her was her was at lunch" matt said frowning in worry
"shes probably just in some class where the teacher is explaining them the hw for break" nate said
matt runs his hands through his hair before
"you guys get in the car ill be right back" matt said handing the keys to chris and running back in the school

they get get into the van
"did you guys see the way matt was acting today?" alahana asked
"yeah it was weird" nick agreed
"i thought he liked devin" nate said
"he still does,idk what happened today" chris said looking back at them from the passenger
"we'll talk to him" nick assured

matt runs to the bleacher.
looks around the field and on the chairs once before going at the back of the bleachers and seeing devin laid back on the corner with her eyes closed
stuff from her bag scattered around
"hey" he calls softly
he goes to tap on her shoulder
she wakes up slowly.
"hey" she said trying to get up
matt gave his hand to her for support
she looked up at him before grabbing his hand and getting up
"what time is it?" she asked rubbing her eyes
"schools dismissed" he answered
"fuck" she groaned before grabbing her bag,and her stuff on the ground
"could've just gone home" he said
"nana wouldve been mad" she answered stuffing her bag with her stuff
"anyways thanks" she said walking past him
she stopped and sighed.
she looked back at him
"why are you being such a bitch?"
"what do you mean?" he asked
"you know what i mean"
"me? it was you who didn't tell me about your boyfriend earlier"
devin let out a small laugh
"this again? what difference would it make?"
"just that...!" matt stopped between his sentence
"what matt?! i need to know whats got you all worked up!"
"if you would've told me sooner i wouldn't have realised that i liked you!" he almost screamed
devin looks at him

matt slowly gets out of devins grip and walks away
devin stood there for another 5 minutes
she sighed before walking to her car and lighting a cigarette the moment she got in it.

matt was sat on their living room couch scrolling throug his phone
"hey matt" nick comes out of his room
matt switches his phone off and lays it on his chest

"what? can't i just talk to you im not always gonna ask you to do something"
matt looks at like hes not serious
"okay. i wanna go get pizza"
"ugh,fine call chris out and then we'll leave" he sighed
"also" nick continues
"is there something wrong? you were kinda freaking out today in front of devin"
"no nothings wrong lets just get going" he got up from the couch.

the triplets drive to get pizza as they sing along to chris' playlist.
suddenly matt lowers the music catching the two's attention
"devin is dating xander" he said
"what??" nick asked
"how-what?" chris reacted
"how do you know?"
"she told me"
"when?"
"when we skipped school yesterday" he answered
"since when" chris asked
"her last trip to fort worth"
"she did tell us xander confessed but now that she said yes" nick explained
"im sorry matt" chris patted matts back
"eh its okay,we had a chat today at the bleachers"
"and?" nick asked
"i...sorta told her that i like her" matt shrugged
"oh" chris opens his mouth
"and now?"
"now what? shes dating someone and she definitely likes him theres no way i have a chance at all"
"i'll just have to move on" matt continued.
"youre getting yourself a big chris hug when we get out of the car" chris smiled cheesy towards matts direction
"thats definitely not what i need rn" matt chuckled
"are you sure you still wanna have this trip matt?" nick asked concerned
"ofcourse i do,dont worry"
"so lets turn the music up shall we" chris said for the volume button

devin lays on her bed, tired.
she feels like all her energy has been drained out jjust by thinking so much
she notices that her phone has been lighting up on the table,she knows who it is.

devin looks at the notifications and sighs before calling xander
"hey" she spoke
"hey? what the fuck devin ive been calling and texting all day" xander screams into the phone
devin frowns
"what the fuck xander? if this is how you wanna fucking talk to me then keep calling and see if i pick up"
she ends the call and throws her phone on the bed
was this relationship really such a bad idea?
their friendship is ruined forever now
shes not even half as happy as she was when they were just friends
after alot more thinking she drifts off to sleep

devin wakes up startled just to see that her phones ringing at 4 am.
this has been happening for almost everyday now and this is the reason she cant get any sleep
she answers the phone
"mom i beg of you,dont ever call me again please especially not at this hour you're ruining everything for me all over again"
and before her mom could reply she ends the call and gets into her blanket.
