"When the sun goes down on my side of town. That lonesome feelin' comes to my door. The whole world turns blue."

~*~*~

Summers in Michigan are one of my favorite things in the world. Growing up on the beach helped fuel my love for the ocean. Swimming, tanning, boating, bonfires, picnics, you name it and I've done it here in my back yard.

I decide to get back to my roots and lay out in the grass next to the fence that divides our yard from the neighbors.

I've been out here for a few hours baking in the sun and reading a new book. Suddenly a flash of something scares me out of the corner of my eye.

Jumping up I run over to the fence. A small blonde woman peaks her head over the fence and smiles like a cheshire cat when we meet eyes.

"Hello neighbor."

"Uhm, hi there. Can I help you?"

The woman is absolutely gorgeous. She's got a long head of blonde hair that's braided over her shoulder. Blue eyes and deep set dimples. She's smiling at me like we are best friends. Her energy triggers something inside of me and suddenly I'm smiling back at her.

"You might be able to. Are you doing anything next Saturday? Also, I love your bikini!"

Her forwardness catches me off guard. I thank her for the compliment before circling her question around my head. I don't even know this girls name.

"I'm not busy, is there something I can do for you?"

She disappears for a quick second before I see her climbing over the fence. She lands a few feet away from me and sticks her hand out.

"That was very rude of me, my name is Hallyn but you can call me Hallie. I'm getting married next Saturday and I am absolutely desperate to find another bridesmaid. You'll get free food, free drinks, a pretty dress, and you'll be in a room full of the most gorgeous men and that's a promise."

Taking a step forward I take her hand in mine. There's something about this girl that is wildly familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's because she's so kind and I feel really comfortable around her.

"I'm Lainey, it's nice too meet you. I can't believe I'm saying this but count me in. What do I need to do?"

Hallie pulls me into the most bone crushing hug, appreciation rolling off of her in waves. "Oh Lainey, I truly can't thank you enough. We are going to pick up the dresses this evening and I would love for you to join us so we can get your dress situated."
