Mallory's pov:

*BANG BANG BANG*

"DUDE WAKE UP! YOU HAVE TO GET READY FOR SCHOOL IDIOT!" My brother Johnny exclaimed from the top of his lungs. Banging on my door repeatedly.

I instantly jolt up and grab my ears to sheild them from whatever siren is bursting my ear drums. I angrily stomp my way to my door and harshly open it, swinging it aggressively to see the deliteful person on the other side.

"ARE YOU JOKING ME?! YOU COULD HAVE MADE ME GO DEAF FROM SCREAMING SO LOUD. I LIKE MY EARS THANK U VERY MUCH!" I belt back at him. As i project my anger.

He tuts with a smirk.
"Still no control, huh?" He grins slickly.
I shoot him a confused look. Raising an eyebrow.
"What?" I question.
He rolls his eyes, in annoyance, and points at my eyes. I finally click and run to my bathroom, standing in front of the mirror staring at the demonic sight in front of me. I frown.

"Thought u had gotten better." He said smugly.
I glare at him, his ears fall slightly, and his tail stops swaying.
"Okay, okay, jeez, it was supposed to be funny," he says in an apologetic tone.
"Yeah, so funny, I'm a monster. Ha ha." I bite back.
He sighs.
"You aren't a monster, Mally. You have a curse. That's not your fault. Anyone was bound to get it." He says sympathetically.

I roll my eyes at his words.
"Yeah, anyone, but it got passed down to me. Out of everyone, me, ME!" I shout in anger. I face the mirror and close my eyes, taking deep breaths in and out. Calming myself down. Once a few seconds have passed, I open my eyes to see my normal colour, green. I see my brother smiling in the mirror as he leans in the doorway.

"What?" I question.
"There's the green eyes we love!"
He reveals.
I let a little smile slip, and he began to laugh. At first, it's not funny, knowing I could seriously hurt someone, but as he continues to laugh, I can't help but join in. Next thing I know, we are laughing our hearts out until we are covering our ears and complaining about a loud voice.

"IF YOU CHILDREN KEEP LAUGHING AND DONT COME DOWN HERE IN ONE MORE MINUTE, I SWEAR TO IRENE YOU WILL BE GROUNDED" our mother Delilah bellows.

My brother and I catch each others eyes and run out of my room, darting for the stairs the quickest we have ever run in our entire life.
We stand aside one another as our mother gives us one final lecture about school.

"Now Johnny, you will drop Mally off at school on your way to college as your father and I are busy with work. He's been in the office since last night, so he won't be able to say goodbye to you both for today." Mum says. Turning to me specifically, "I'm trusting you, Mallory. NO friends, NO socialising with ANYONE apart from teachers, you got it? Oh, and put your ears and tail away. People do not need to know you are a werewolf. Same for you, Johnny." She declares.

As if me and Johnny are synced as one, we both transform back into a human body. Hiding our ears and tail.
"Ugh, I so prefer keeping them out, so much more free." Johnny groans.
"Yes, well, we wouldn't have to if someone over here wasn't cursed." She hints very unsubtly.
I scoff, picking up my bag and leaving the house, sitting in the passenger seat of my brothers car. Johnny soon appears at the front door, walking towards the car.

"You know she didn't mean it, sis." he says as he adjusts himself in the drivers seat. I scoff in return as I put my headphones on and start playing my music. It's always been a good way to calm myself.
Before I know it, he pulls up to school and parks the car. Before I mutter a thanks and step out, he locks the door.
"Before you go, please be careful. Don't get yourself into trouble, okay? Mum and dad are trusting you." He speaks softly.
I nod as he unlocks the door for me to step out. Taking a deep breath in, I leave the car and walk through the gates. Kids bombard the place, scattered about in groups. Heards of them wandering around and chatting.
Oh, how I envy that.
