Well, that's another ONC in the books. Like every year it seems to start off pretty mellow, but then there's a mad dash to get to the end before the deadline. I made it with a few days to spare this time, but I've really had to crank some chapters out the last couple weeks.
Still, I had a fun time writing this one. I tried to cram as many references to fairy tales as I could. There's probably a few I missed, but I did my best, especially with the time and word limitations I was working with here. Part of the fun in using these classic elements was making them recognizable enough to be familiar, but also putting a bit of a spin on them to make them into something new. I will say these stories are classics for a reason and they can withstand quite a bit of bending and distorting.
Finally I just want to say thanks to everyone who came along for the ride with me this time. It's definitely a lot more fun with you guys. If everything goes to plan, I'll hopefully be doing this again in 2025, but in the meantime I will be around, probably participating in some short story contests and also procrastinating on finishing the main book I'm supposed to be working on. So hopefully I'll see y'all around sooner rather than later. Let's go live our happily ever afters!
