Y/n Pov
"Remember when I spun around the tire swing until I got sick?" I ask my mom with a smile as we walk around the backyard of my grandparents house.
My mom's laugh fills the space between us as she nods her head. "I do, you puked kool-aid all over your dress. And I loved that dress on you." She says pinching my cheek.
I laugh and roll my eyes, but don't pull away from her touch, I've missed it too much. "I hated it, but then again I hated pretty much all dresses and skirts back then, huh?" I ask her.
She smiles and laughs. "That you did. You preferred to play rough with the neighbor kids. Always getting into something you shouldn't. My little mud munchkin." She says with a smile.
I gasp and look at her, grabbing her arm. "I forgot you used to call me that." I laugh.
Her hand lands on mine with a smile. "Oh yeah, all the time. My little girl, rolling around in the mud, trucks and hot wheels over barbies, skateboarding. I guess I should say "my little tom boy"."
I hug her arm as we come back to the pond. "I'll be your little girl too." I say smiling as my head rests on her shoulder, my arm wrapped around hers.
She kisses the top of my head, stroking my hair. "Have you made a decision yet honey?" She pauses while I take a breath. "It is up to you after all if you want to go back."
"What if I want to stay?" I ask her without looking up from the pond, watching the tiny water ripples from the underwater filter.
"That's a choice too." She says softly before sighing. "I just don't want you to give up the rest of your life to stay with me." She says tilting my face up to hers. "Because I will always be here when you're ready, I'm not going anywhere. But down there, on Earth, you have an entire life waiting for you." She says softly.
The tears prick at my eyes, even though I will them not to fall. I want to argue, say there is nothing waiting for me, but I know for a fact there is. I have friends, I have a family I have built for myself, kind of. "I just wish there was a way to know for sure that it's where I belong. I feel torn, I want to stay with you. I've missed you so much. But if I stay, I'll miss everyone there too." I respond, the tears I was willing so hard not to fall, steak down my cheeks.
"If you're waiting for a sign honey, I think it just came." She says with a smile, looking over my shoulder.
I turn around, wiping the tears from my cheeks. My eyes meet beautiful blue ones. "Cas?" I ask in disbelief.
He smiles sweetly and nods his head. "Hello darling." He says tenderly as he walks over to me and my mom. "It worked. Sam has his soul back, he's okay." He reassures me before I can even ask. He looks at my mom behind me and extends his hand to her. "Hello, my name is Castiel." He says to her with a smile.
My mom smiles back, shaking his hand. "Oh, so you're one of the boys who stole my daughter's heart." She laughs softly as she pulls her hand back.
Cas laughs softly and smiles. "One of them, yes. But to be fair, I believe she stole ours first." He says looking down at me with a wink, making the blush rise to my cheeks.
My mom looks at me with a smile. "He's smooth." She says in a whisper that makes me giggle. She turns back to Castiel. "She's torn between staying or coming back. But I believe you're the perfect sign that she should return to Earth."
Cas looks at me with a soft expression on his face, he smiles but I can see the tinge of hurt in his eyes. "I just miss my mom so much." I say quickly, feeling the need to defend myself.
