(A/N: I've decided to write chapters early so that I just post and post; I've also been sick for a few days now and I've been itching to play DMC4 again and see my baby Dante get unlocked.
Now you see where my fascination over supernatural things came from?

LAMIA's POVI frowned, as I watched Aleks leave the apartment yet his words-- his story was burnt at the back of my head. My rose tainted lips let a tired sigh, as I walked towards the library, deciding that I should just wait for Mikhail there.

'You must have noticed that we look nothing alike, aside from the eyes.' Aleks started, his posture somewhat straighter than before, as if he was talking to a business partner. 'And the reason behind that is we're all illegitimate children of Satanei, but Mikhail--"
'What about Mikhail?' I asked, gazing down at the cup of cold coffee wrapped around my fingers.
"His eyes, everything about him is rare, which made him special." Aleks replied, his expression stoic. "One might think that Lucius is the strongest being in hell but he's a halfling, half the powers of an Angel, half the powers of a demon."
"I still don't understand, does this have something to do with the power of realms?"
"Yes, you see, demons are at their strongest when they're in hell, and angels when they're in heaven." He explained, taking a quick sip from his cup. "Earth, the middle realm, is sort of a neutral ground. And since you are a nice being, it also affects the strength of the creature who feeds off of your life energy."
"Now you see, since Mikhail was the special brother, he was shielded from the world, hidden by our father until he was of right age. I usually visited him out of pity, he still was my brother." He paused, looking up as if he was thinking of good memories as a gentle smile formed on his face. "It drove him to the brink of insanity, to be locked up in a room where he had no contact with the outside world, even my visits were just vocal."
"Then one day, maybe through all of his collected thoughts, he discovered his raw power." Aleks waved his hand, making blue and white mist appear, and with a flick of his finger, it was gone just as fast as it had shown itself. "One of the guards came to send him his breakfast and he just discovered a portal through another realm. With Satanei gone to make contracts with foolish humans, and no other figure of supreme authority, he turned to Lucius."
"Lucius followed Mikhail, with the intention of stealing our father's attention. I was also there, silently watching them, but little did they know that I followed Mikhail first." My companion laughed a hollow laugh, making me stare at him. "It was amusing how one of the strongest demons in this world quivered at the sight of a woman holding out a flower towards him. It was springtime, if I remember correctly, the field was surrounded by sunflowers."
"Was it Amali...?" I asked, and he silently nodded.
"Yes, and she was the most beautiful mortal I've ever seen, she was laughing, pulling jokes at Mikhail without fear." The fond memory made me smile, as he continued to tell his tale. "Did I mention that the person who bargains his soul to the devil can name him?"
"Oh, I didn't!" I replied, slamming my hands on the table. "If, perhaps, I make a contract with Mikhail, I could change his name to Cumquat McGee?"
"No matter how ridiculous it is, yes; just be guided that he'll make your life shittier than it always was."
"But why did Mikhail keep his name?"
"It's up to the demon if he wants to keep his name after the contract has been fulfilled; we all have gone through a lot of names but Mikhail and Lucius were the only ones who kept their first given name."
"Did you guys have any other names before you were summoned?"
Aleksandre tapped his chin as he let out a breath, trying his best to jog up his memory.
"Oh man, I'm not good at remembering things, but they say if you knew a demon's real name, you'd have the ability to gain complete authority over them." He huffed, as if he was blowing an invisible lock of hair away from his eyes. "It may be a good thing, though, no human should have such immense power, even great civilizations and empires had to pay the price."
"So basically Demons are hard to outsmart?"
"Yes, exorcisms are a great example of paying the price, but that's only when the human lets the demon get too cocky and benevolent that he takes over his master's body" Aleks gives me a frown as I return it. "Hey, don't sweat it, it's the constant battle of heaven and hell, nobody really wins in the end."
"And what do I ACTUALLY play in this battle so-called battle?"
"We don't know, Lamia, but we suspect that everything will soon fall into its respective place." Aleks looked at me, making me frown at him, as if I was telling him that I still don't understand.
"Aleks I--"
"Lamia, I'm a demon in charge of one of the nine circles, I live in a place where storm wind blows forever, yet you treat a lustful demon like me with kindness... I-- None of us deserve it." He lets out an empty laugh as an image flashes in front of me, a man with tattoos all over his body, large horns sprouting from his head, a halo of intertwined thorns floating above him as jet black wings hung from his back.
"Are you alright?" He asks, making me blink, returning me to reality. "Hello?"
"I just saw your real form..." I whispered, fazed by the thing I just saw. "I shouldn't be scared of this, but-- you're beautiful yet terrifying."
"Ah, don't flatter me! Using our wings hurt." Aleks groaned standing up. "Lamia I must go, but remember this: your choice of sticking with us will bring you great misfortune, be prepared to lose a lot of loved ones and everything you care about, and the only way of being able to protect them is becoming one of us, or fighting us."
"Aleks-- what will happen if I sell my soul to the devil?" I asked hurriedly, standing from my chair and running towards him to grab his arm. Aleks turned towards me, his head bent down to meet my eyes.
"It depends on what kind of bargain you're in for and what type of demon you bargain with, but I'm sure you're a smart woman who'd rather keep her soul." Aleks then pries his arm away from me, sending me a flirtatious smirk but before he left, his golden eyes turned black as he turned his back towards me.
"We're all burning in hell anyways."

I was left there, in the middle of the kitchen, stunned. If there is some sort of way to talk to Amali, I would squeeze all the answers out of her like a piece of lemon. I began walking towards the library as I gazed at the huge shelves filled with books and the even larger mirror conveniently placed on the centre of the wall. I gazed at the books, looking at the titles, desperate for answers-- I have to look, for the sake of my family, but it proved to be a fool's work.
I sighed, pushing a stray lock away from my hair as I stared at my brown flat-heeled boots.
"Amali, what the hell do I do?" At that moment, I stare at the mirror, gazing at my reflection, as she held the same tired look I had.
If the contract takes my soul, at least I'd be saving my family.
