Trumpkin was his name, the dwarf I mean. He finally introduced himself as we rode the boat.
"They're so still" Lucy mumbles looking at the trees
"They're trees. What'd you expect?" He asks her
"They used to dance" Lucy tells him
After a few seconds of silence he speaks up again.
"Wasn't long after you left that the Telmarines invaded. Those who survived retreated to the woods. And the trees, they retreated so deep into themselves that they haven't been heard from since" he tells us
"I don't understand. How could Aslan have let this happen?" Lucy asks
"Aslan? Thought he abandoned us when you lot did" trumpkin tells us
"We didn't abandoned you, we walked through a wardrobe we remembered from a memory and couldn't come back. If I had a choice I would've never left" I tell him quickly
"Makes no difference now, does it?" He asks me
"Get us to the Narnians, and it will" I tell him

After a long while of rowing we finally reached where we needed to go. We all pulled the boat onto the rocks as Lucy starts walking a bit.
"Hello there" Lucy calls out and I turn to see her looking at a bear
The bear grunts and stands on its back legs.
"It's all right. We're friends" she tells it
I noticed something different in the bear than I remembered, and so did Trumpkin which caused me to worry more.
"Don't move your majesty" he tells Lucy
She turns around to look at us and just as she does the bear roars and starts to charge. Lucy stares in horror and takes off running towards us.
Susan quickly raises her bow
"Stay away from her!" She yells

Lucy trips on the rocks and turns to see the bear standing over her in its back legs.
"Shoot Susan!" I yell
"Shoot Susan shoot!" Edmund yells
I watch as a arrow hits the bear and it falls backyards. I turn to see Susan there with an arrow still in her bow, then I look behind her and Trumpkin had shot the arrow.

I turn back to Lucy as he stands up and embraces me in a hug, as I was the closest to her.
"Why didn't he stop?" Susan asks
"I suspect he was hungry" Trumpkin answers
We all stepped closer to the bear as Peter takes out his sword
"He was wild" Edmund mumbles
"I don't think he could talk at all" Peter adds
"Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, that's what you become. You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember" he tells us

We all walk through the woods as Peter leads us.
"I don't remember this way" Susan speaks up
"That's the problem with girls, you can't carry a map in your heads" Peter says looking back at us
"Exactly because our heads actually have something in them. Like a brain, if you even know what that is" I smirk
"I wish he'd just listen to the D.L.F in the first place" Susan mumbles
"D.L.F?" Edmund asks
"Dear little friend" Lucy answers him
"Oh that's not at all patronizing is it?" I hear Trumpkin mumble
"You know, I think I like you more than Edmund and Peter over there. You're more fun" I laugh
"Hey!" Edmund says but I just raise my hands in defense as I see Trumpkin try to hide a smirk

After walking a little longer Peter stops and closes his eyes in frustration
"I'm not lost" he tells us
"No. You're just going the wrong way" Trumpkin tells him
"You last saw Caspian at the Shuddering Woods and the quickest way there is to cross at the River Rush" Peter tells him
"But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in these parts" he tells him
"That explains it then, you're mistaken" Peter says before turning away and walking again
"Peter, we've been gone for hundreds of years, I think he knows more than us, Narnia has changed since the last time we were here" I tell him and just as I finish we come across a big drop, the river all the way down on the bottom.

"You see over time, water erodes the earths soil, craving deeper-" Susan starts to explain to Peter
"Oh shut up" Peter mumbles
"Is there a way down?" Ed asks
"Yeah falling" Trumpkin answers
"Well we weren't lost" Peter says
"No, only made the trip longer" I tell him
"There's a ford near Beruna. How do you feel about swimming?" Trumpkin asks us
"Fine by me" I laugh before hearing Lucy mumble something
"Aslan? It's Aslan! It's Aslan over there!" Lucy exclaims turning to look at us
I look at where she was pointing to see a glimpse of him before he disappears
"Don't you see? He's right- there" Lucy says looking back to see he was gone
"Do you see him now?" Trumpkin asks in a tone of mockery
"I'm not crazy. He was there. He wanted us to follow him."  Lucy tells us
"I'm sure there are any number of lions in this wood. Just like that bear" Peter tells her
"No that was Aslan. I didn't see him long but I know when I see Aslan, even if it's a glimpse" I speak up
"You saw him?" Lucy asks her face lighting up as I give her a nod
"Look I'm not about to jump off a cliff after someone who doesn't exist" Trumpkin says
"Last time I didn't believe Lucy. I ended up looking pretty stupid" Edmund tells the rest of them
"Why wouldn't I have seen him?" Peter asks
"Maybe you weren't looking" Lucy answers
