~*~*~*~
Minutes felt like eternity in that moment. It seemed as if the battle would never end. Back to back taking down a guard at a time, but their numbers never seemed to lessen. But I wasn't giving up hope, Lucy had to have found Aslan by now, I know it.
I watched as Caspian was thrown back into the hole and I rushed over to help, but before I could get there I saw something I had only wished to see again. The roots had grabbed the soldier attacking Caspian and threw him around.
I reached my hand out to Caspian as he gladly grabbed it.
We looked around as the trees came to life, joining the fight as if they were a warrior themselves.
"Lucy" Peter mumbles"Care to do the honors?" I ask Peter
"Together?" He smiles
I give him a nod before we both yell
"For Aslan!" Raising our swords before joining the battle againBut the Telmarines had started to retreat. They ran back to the river but suddenly came to a stop. Once we got out of the tree line I saw Lucy at the end of the bridge holding her knife. Then Aslan walks up next to her.
"Charge!" Sopespian yells as they all start running again
But they stop once more when Aslan lets out his roar. The water starts to fall back, leaving them all very confused.
"What's happening?"
"The river!"
"Retreat!" They all yelled in fear
But they didn't make it very far. The river had taken form of a man and was rushing straight towards them. He breaks the bridge into pieces. Causing one last big wave before falling back into place, as if he was never there. To all of the Telmarines soldiers who lived were given the chance to surrender. Dropping their swords and shields, hanging their heads low. They had lost. The war was over. And once again, we had won. With a little help from Aslan. Well... a lot of help actually.
All five of us made our way across the river to Lucy and Aslan. Once we get there we all drop to the ground kneeling.
"Rise Kings and Queens of Narnia" Aslan says and we four rise, back Caspian stayed down.
"All of you" Aslan adds
"I do not think I'm ready" Caspian says keeping his head down
"It's for that very reason I know you are" Aslan tells him with pride as he slowly rises to his feet. He fully stands up looking at Aslan, keeping his head tall.
He glances at me as I give him a proud smile and nod, in which he gladly returns. But our attention was then turned to the sound of a bagpipe. We looked down to see the mice carrying Reepicheep, who laid injured. Lucy quickly drops a drip into his mouth and he stand up completely healed.
"Oh! Thank you your majesty thank you" he says giving her a small bow. Then he noticed Aslan standing there.
"Hail Aslan! It is great honor to be
in-" Reepicheep starts to before losing balance. He turns around to try and see why he did. Only to find out he was missing his tail.
"I'm completely out of countenance. I must crave your indulgence for appearing in this unseemly fashion. Uh.. perhaps a drop more?" He asks Lucy
"I don't think it does that" Lucy tells him
"You could have a go" he suggests
"It becomes you well small one" Aslan laughs
"All the same great king. I regret that I must withdraw, for a tail in the honor and glory of a mouse" Reepicheep says holding out his sword
"Perhaps you think too much of your honor, friend" Aslan says
"Well it's not just the honor. It's also great for balance, and climbing, and grabbing things" he starts to list
"May it please Your High Majesty, we will not beat the shame of wearing an honor denied to our chief." Another mouse spoke as they all held their sword to their tail
"Not for the sake of your dignity, but for the love of your people" Aslan says then his tail grew back
He let out a gasp grabbing it in his hands.
"Look! Thank you my liege. I will treasure it always. From this day forward it will serve as a great reminder of my huge humility" he says bowing as we all laugh"Now where is this dear little friend you've told me so much about?" Aslan asks Lucy
Lucy looks over at Trumpkin who looked at us. Aslan then lets out a roar and he closes his eyes feeling the wind on his face.
"Do you see him now?" Lucy laughs
