"Little quick question" Quinn said as she sat down next to me. "What on earth is Alexia doing here?"
"Unfortunately, my big mouth got me in trouble again" I answered as we were both looking at Alexia.
She was talking to Max, they obviously knew each other from when Lando and her dated.
He didn't seem too excited to talk to her though.
She was surprised when I told her the barbecue was at Lando's place. Told her we had a thing going on, not sure what I was.
It wasn't a lie though, we have a thing going on, and I didn't know exactly what it was.
Lando send me a text half an hour ago to let me know he was leaving the MTC then. So he could walk in any minute.
He wasn't gonna enjoy seeing her, I bet.
But she was pretty eager to come, knowing she would see the one who cheated on her, who broke her heart.
Pretty weird.
"Heard you are thinking about going to Mclaren" Romeo whispered as he sat down across of me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Thinking yeah, haven't decided anything yet"
He leaned closer. "I am going to Red Bull"
My mouth almost fell open, looked at Quinn, who just nodded. "He's leaving us and you're thinking about leaving as well. Awesome"
But then she nudged me. "Both of you deserve it though"
"I am so happy for you, Rome" I looked back at him. He looked happy, wanted to go to Red Bull for a while now.
Tried for years now, and all of a sudden, they hired him?
"And I will be on Verstappen's team" he said enthusiastically. "Pretty unbelievable"
Yeah, literally. He was a great mechanic and definitely deserved that, but Max wasn't looking for new mechanics.
"How though?" I asked. I didn't want to be disrespectful and I knew Romeo would take it like that.
I am pretty sure he thought it was weird as well.
"Guess someone put in a good word" he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't actually know"
Hmm. Weird.
"Okay, so.." Max Fewtrell cleared his throat and sat down next to me. "You're Alexia's friend?"
"No, she used to be my best friend when she was dating Lando" I explained.
Even though I was her best friend and Max was Lando's best friend, we never actually met.
Lando and Alexia usually just spend time together, without anyone else.
"Okay..." he nodded, didn't expect that answer. "So you know they dated and still invited her"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't think Lando will mind very much"
He cheated on her. Multiple times, or that's what Alexia told me at least.
"He will mind" Max corrected me. "He will mind very very much"
Fuck.
"Why though?" I asked.
"Why?" He frowned. "Because she fucking chea-"
He got interrupted by Lando walking out in the garden, walked straight to us.
"Hi beautiful" he leaned down, pressed his lips against mine and greeted Max after that, said hi to Quinn and Romeo too.
"Sorry I am late but Zak had to tell me something very interesting" he said, leaning against the table and looking straight at me.
"Oh?" I tried to be as casually as possible, but I was hoping Zak didn't tell him yet.
I didn't even know if I wanted to leave, or if I wanted to join them.
"Yeah, he said that-"
And then Alexia walked to us, which made Lando turn his head to her.
The usual smile on his face immediately dropped as soon as he saw her.
Max was definitely right. It was a terrible idea to invite her.
