Stafford Hotel, California

Santana had looped arms with Brittany and Quinn with Mercedes the sober parties helping the drunk ones stay steady. "I'll get us checked in. You four stay here." "I need to come with you Mercedes, me and San have a couple requests I need to check." Mercedes groaned but gestured for the blonde to join her, she looked back at the two woman who were sat in the lobby chairs and then to Harmony who was stood beside her mother. "Please don't let them go anywhere" "Cedes! I'm the adult here" Quinn responded as she stood in an attempt to prove her sobriety, she stumbled slightly but caught herself before it went too far and smiled brightly at Mercedes.

"I'm going to the bar" the blonde held her hand up before Brittany or Mercedes could interject. "To cure this" Quinn gestured to herself and smiled, "cmon San". The woman had been enjoying her own world when her name brought her back to the conversation, Harmony attempted to interject but instead was met with a pointed look from her auntie who had now looped arms with her mother. "Harmony go and find your sister please. You know where we will be".

The group watched the two walk off and Mercedes thought how impressive it was that they didn't stumble once. "Go on then. Go find Zi please".

Quinn and Santana had made it round the corner from reception before collapsing against the wall nearest. "Christ how did we do that?!" "Not a clue but I do know that I'm a mother and I should not be this drunk before meeting my ex-wife". Santana had ever intention to check on her friend when her stomach suddenly turned, she placed the back of her hand to her mouth and looked into Quinn's eyes terrified before shooting off to the nearest bathroom, or trash can depending on how far she could make it.

Quinn found the situation quite amusing, after all she had always been classed as the lightweight of the group when they were teenagers. The hotel was well organised and signed so she decided to continue her journey to the bar as planned, she was walking past the elevators when a familiar voice caught her attention. Quinn turned to look and was met with a sight she wished she would never see, Rachel was stood in an elevator a small blonde with her arms wrapped around the women's neck, both smiling blindly at each other. Quinn felt her jaw drop and just as the elevator door began to close Rachel looked up, their eyes locking and sure enough Quinn felt as if her knees were going to give way from under her, the blonde reacted how she thought appropriate and waved never breaking the eye contact that Rachel craned her neck for as the doors closed.

Rachel stared out from the stage, she wasn't nervous about her audition for the glee club but she certainly wasn't comfortable performing in front of so many unknown people. She thought back to what she had been taught and decided to pick a vocal point, one point she can return to whenever the fear kicks in. She wondered what would work, perhaps the teacher or maybe just an empty chair. As Rachel looked through the audience wondering she smiled when a pair of brown eyes met her own, they were the most beautiful, soulful eyes she had ever seen and even the over head lights were failing at dulling their intensity. Those eyes would be her vocal point, they would keep her safe.

Rachel stood perplexed in her and Kitty's hotel room. There was no chance that she had just seen the one person she had avoided for over ten years in the lobby of her potential wedding reception. Kitty was trying her hardest to remove her fiancées clothes but it appeared the brunette didn't want any part of the activity, "everything okay?" Kitty turned the women's head to make eye contact, noticing how lighter her eyes had turned.

"Yeah. Sorry. Just, I'm gonna get some air. Meet you by the pool?" Kitty sighed and stepped back, she turned and grabbed her handbag from the bed and winked at Rachel. "Sure thing. I'll be at the bar if you need me". Rachel still stood perplexed as Kitty left the room wondering if perhaps she had drunk too much of the new batch before they arrived.

Quinn sipped gingerly at the disgusting drink she had been presented by the bar tender. She was aware someone had sat near her when the high pitched voice cut through her brain, she sipped at the drink some more and noticed how ever noise from the person was extremely loud for some reason, even the tapping of her phone screen was irritating the blonde.

"Oh! My! God! Quinn!!" Quinn startled for a second before turning to look at the voice, she recognised the face but could not put a name to it, instead opting to smile at the woman. "It's me. Kitty. We met at McKinley!" Quinn smiled in realisation. "Look it's kinda awkward but your partner Mercedes her dresses are to die for! Any chance you could introduce me?" Quinn furrowed her eyebrows "why is it awkward?". Kitty shook off the question without an answer and moved a seat closer to the older blonde, "Mercedes? Any chance?" Quinn just sighed, she remembered how scattered the girl had been at school. "Yeah, sure, she's actually about somewhere. Look I need some fresh air but I'll be about for a couple days if you want to chat." Kitty grinned as she watched the blonde stand and leave the bar, it was certainly going to be awkward but she was set on getting a dress from one of the best.

"She fancies you" Rachel smirked at her girlfriend as she approached her and entwined their fingers. "So? Loads of people fancy you." Quinn pulled her in closer and rested their foreheads together. "She's essentially a younger me. Not doing anything for you?" Rachel laughed and kissed the blondes nose, "I only need one blonde cheerleader in my life and I'll think you'll find I got the best".

Quinn walked through the hotel lobby and smiled when she saw her daughter waiting for an elevator. "Harmony. Have you found your sister." The girl turned and Quinn finally took her in, the outfit different to the one the girl had left England in.
Elizabeth ran up to her mother and was swept up into a cuddle, both smiling. "My sweet girl, I have missed you so much! Don't you ever leave me again!"

Elizabeth nodded into her mother's shoulder and smiled brightly when she was pulled back and looked into the women's eyes she hadn't seen for months. "I'm sorry mum. I just really had to meet her." "Yeah and I had to meet you." They both turned to face Harmony who was now stood next to them, Quinn quickly pulling the girl into them both for a cuddle. Quinn allowed herself a moment of pure bliss, holding both her daughters again for the first time since they had been born before entering mom mode and pulling back from the embrace. She stood up straight and ran her hands down the black dress Santana had helped her pick out, hoping to brush out any wrinkles that had occurred.

"Girls. Please explain to me why your mother had no clue I was here? The look on her face from the elevator was not the look of someone who knows I even still inhabit the same planet as her." Both girls looked at each other sheepishly, Quinn noted how identical they really were even down to the way their eyebrows scrunched tightly. "Well....basically mom couldn't know because she wouldn't come. She's getting married and she can't!" Quinn stared at her daughters, Rachel was getting married and they expected her to do something about that. Rachel didn't even know she was coming, now she just looks like a crazed ex with issues. "Right I'm am going to find your mother and we are untangling this mess right now!".
