Well, hello again.
If you've been following us in book three, you should know where we left off. After Carlos drove back onto the island, the Catwings soon swarmed him and bombarded him with questions.
Naturally overwhelmed, he yelled, "One at a time! I can't answer more than one at once."
Among these Catwings was Slaughlitte, Jhaufyther's grandcat. The Catwings fanned out and let him sit in front of Carlos. "Clauchice proposed an idea to imprison and infect the rest of the humans that are still alive. The remaining result should be that the entire world is infected by the virus. We were wondering if you would say yes to this."
Carlos scratched his head. "Does it involve me partaking in this?"
"You started the plague, so yes, it does."
He smiled. "Perfect. Yeah, we'll do it. Tell her that I give you the approval."
Slaughlitte's eyes lit up with excitement. "Perfect. Thank you!"
He whirled around and ran away with the rest of the Catwings running after him.
"They seem excited," I commented.
He shrugged. "Eh. It's a pretty big deal, according to what I heard. The biggest thing to happen since the Massacre apparently."
"If it involves all the Catwings, then it IS going to be something huge," Sam said.
"You're right. I'm the one leading it after all."
"That sounds pretty stressful," I said. "Are you sure you'll be able to handle it?"
He nodded. "Pretty sure. Besides, it doesn't sound that hard. It should be easy to maintain order in everything."
A thousand years later, he was right. With an incredible amount of ease, he's managed to orchestrate and lead the entire plan. The Catwings obeyed his every command and helped make the plague even worse.
It's crazy to see how far he's come. Once an aspiring athlete, and now the king of two dangerous and populated creatures.
I was laying in my bed as all these thoughts came to me. I looked at the clock on the bedside table. 8:30 glowed on the clock's face.
I sighed and rubbed my eyes then my forehead. I sat up and took a few moments to stretch, then threw back the blanket, slid on my slippers, and prepared myself for the day.
During the one-thousand-years of the plague, I've bleached my hair then dyed it with blue streaks. It's a subtle way of showing my friendship with Jhaufyther.
I was putting on my earrings when Tommy burst in through the door.
"Hi!"
"Hey." I smiled when I saw him.
"Am I interrupting something?"
"No. I just finished putting on my earrings."
"The ones I gave you?"
"Of course."
"Okay." He smiled. "How's it going?"
I flopped into an armchair. "If you're talking about me being tired and worrying about Carlos, then it's going alright."
He sat down in front of me and crossed his legs. "This is a very nice room."
"Right? That's exactly what I said when Nova showed it to me. It's very spacious and I can store a lot of things in here."
He raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"
I got up and went to a wall, where a curved sword was hung up in its scabbard. "This."
