It's a possibility that this is the last chapter before Marissa gives birth. Don't completely trust in that though.
I thought it would be nice to share a story of my fiancée being a complete savage.
It was a few days after the whole arena thing (my friends overreacted, but I didn't care) and the pregnancy hormones were obviously getting worse for Marissa.
Since she was getting so big, she started wearing my clothes since they're really baggy and would be perfect for her growing belly.
I don't know if the pants and hoodie had some sort of effect or something, because the moment she put them on it's like a switch just activated.
Mixed in with the hormones, my friends told me that she was acting exactly like I was.
I didn't think too much of it until the thing happened.
She woke up and felt JJ just rolling around in her stomach. Other people would wait until the baby stopped moving, but Emy wasn't one of them.
She carefully got up and walked down the stairs.
Poor Todd, who noticed her out of the room.
It was the first time he's met her, and he was already faced with a tough situation.
"Uh... hi?"
"You're Todd, right?"
"Who's asking?"
She grabbed his collar. "A pregnant girl is. What's the best place to walk around here?"
He slowly raised his hands. "My bad. Behind the building, there's a little park that has a sick path."
She let him go and he adjusted his shirt.
"What's your name, by the way?"
"Marissa," she said over her shoulder as she was heading outside.
To this day, I still don't know how Marissa was able to walk outside without experiencing excruciating pain.
It just so happened that Sam and Riley were also at the park sitting on a bench, and when they saw Marissa coming they gasped.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Walking."
"Is that good for the baby?"
She glared at Riley. "You're not the one who's pregnant. I am."
"Just be careful."
"I can tell you the same things about your words but you wouldn't listen."
"It's not my fault I'm honest."
"You can control what you say."
She continued walking around until she started feeling tired. She headed back to the HQ.
I don't know if she had an urge or something, but she suddenly went to the warehouse and flicked the lights on in the gun room.
Any type of gun you can imagine- not including the really old ones- were stored in that room.
She grabbed a rifle, which isn't really a good idea but it was the one she wanted.
Marissa went outside again.
You would think that she was about to kill someone, but what she did with it was still a little surprising.
She saw a pigeon just chilling in a tree and shot it once in the head.
Then she killed a couple more birds: two sparrows, three finches, five pigeons, and a very confused and fluffy bobcat.
Instead of getting string, she grabbed all the animals' feet and dragged them inside.
(She got blood on my hoodie, but I don't really care. Well, a little bit; but it's fine... sort of.)
She slapped them onto the table in the butchering room, but before she did she went into the kitchen.
Mike was surprised to see her, but he didn't say anything.
"What's the best knife you got?"
"Twelve-inch, obsidian blade with a white handle. Uh... why?"
"Just curious. Can I have it?"
Knowing what was good for him, he handed her the knife and she went back to the room.
She then proceeded to behead all of them with the knife.
Using her farmer skills, she plucked the feathers off the birds, ripping the skin away with them.
Then she skinned the bobcat, hanging it onto hooks on the ceiling using nylon rope.
She laid the birds out on a small metal slab, then proceeded to cut their stomach open and rip their guts out.
She flung all the organs into a bucket, then went to the bobcat and slit its throat to bleed it out.
She heard some meows outside, so she grabbed the bucket, the other one from two chapters ago, and went out the back door.
(Remember the dragon feast that Dlhithirk talked about? Yeah, me neither, but that happened before I went insane. That'll come later, I promise.)
The siblings smelled the organs and were crowding around her as she set the buckets down.
"Okay, get in a line."
They arranged themselves so Flihkfhur was in front of them.
He opened his mouth and Marissa tossed the guts.
As they were going down, Dlhithirk tried to sneak an extra bite. Marissa swatted him, and he was forced to go to the back.
"Thank you for the snack," Flihkfhur said.
"You're welcome."
They flew away, and she went back inside.
She continued to prepare the animals. Once she was done, she put them in the freezer and went upstairs.
"Yo, Mike."
"Hey kid."
"I already prepared some food in case you don't wanna cook tomorrow."
He nodded at her. "I appreciate that. Thanks."
She snatched the rifle she left at the doorway and headed outside.
"Let's see if my aim is still what it's supposed to be."
She focused on a point on a tree and closed one eye, cocking the gun. Then she fired.
The bullet hit but ricocheted off the bark and flew above her head.
"Yikes, that was close."
Riley and Sam came running up to her.
"What happened?"
"Testing my aim. What's up with you?"
Sam stared at Emy's belly. "How are you shooting that rifle nine months pregnant?"
She shrugged. "Beats me, but check this out."
She spun the rifle above her head and fired at the building wall.
"Did Carlos teach you that?"
"Some parts of it, why?"
"I figured. You're acting exactly like him."
You would probably think that this offended her, but she was actually pretty pleased.
"Huh. Would you say so?"
"Definitely." Sam waved her arm at the rifle. "You're over here shooting a gun, while pregnant, and you don't even care."
"That IS kind of like him," Marissa said. "Doing stuff while struggling with something."
"Do you want to go inside?" Riley offered.
"Sure." She shot one last bullet before going inside with them.
I just so happened to be hanging out in the lobby with the boys; when I saw Marissa coming, I stared at her in shock.
"Why the HELL are you up?"
"Um... I wanted to go for a walk?"
"Really? With blood on MY hoodie?"
"Okay, fine. I shot and butchered some birds."
"You WHAT?" Tommy exclaimed.
"Calm down. I left them in the freezer."
"In the warehouse?"
She nodded.
"Jesus, Emy." I stood up. "You do realize that you're going to have to WASH the hoodie."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I'm proud of you."
"Really?"
"Sure. As long as you wash that hoodie."
"I'm pregnant."
"And?"
We had a stare down until she sighed. "Okay, fine."
"That's what I thought."
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. We hung out, talked, and ate snacks.
It was a pretty great day overall. I managed to be with people I've hurt over the past millennia, and the fact they wanted to be with me after literally everything was so surprising.
I guess I just wanted to share a story about my now-wife, and everything she did while pregnant.
However, there would be more pressure on her after I asked her and two others to help me fake my death.
