There is huskerdust in this chapter.

Angel groaned, going to sit at the bar, which wasn't very far from where he was already. He didn't wanna deal with Lucifer and Alastor bickering while Charlie was gone.

They had no restrictions when she was gone, so they were saying a lot to each other that Charlie would throw a fit over.

Husk shook his head. "They argue like a bunch of teen girls." He said, pouring Angel a drink.

Angel laughed a little, nodding. "yeah." he said, tracing the edge of the glass. Husk finished cleaning dirty glasses, leaning against the counter.

Angel took a swig of his drink, letting out a soft sigh. "They're gonna act like kids all day. I feel bad for you-"

"Why? You gotta deal with 'em too." "I do have to go ta work eventually. Just waitin' for him to call." Angel shrugged, Husk nodding in understanding.

"You know how long you're gonna be gone?" "Depends on Vals mood." Angel said, taking a drink. Husk noticed his mood shift, letting out a soft sigh.

The pair sat in a comfortable silence for a while, neither of them saying a word. Angel was just thinking about how bad work would be, and husk was thinking about what the rest of the day would look like.

Angel's phone vibrating ruined the silence, Angel quickly answering it. " Yes, val?" Angel answered, standing up.

Husk watched him, watching as he paced as he answered Val with "mhm' or "yeah"

Angel nodded a lot, chewing on his fingertips. "Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can." He said, as Valentino hung up.

Husk gave him a look, knowing the end of the day would be a trip. Angel gave him a gentle smile.

"I'm gonna leave early, so hopefully I get special treatment today. See ya later, whiskers." Angel said, sliding his almost empty glass over to Husk.

Husk watched him leave, cleaning the glass. He watched Alastor and Lucifer irritate each other.

Hours passed by, and Charlie got back before Angel. Husk was cleaning down the bar, checking the time. It was late.

"Hey, Husker!" Charlie greeted, waving. He glanced at her. "Hey." He replied. "Where's Angel? He's usually here with you."

"He's workin' late I guess." Husk said, wiping the counter. Charlie nodded slowly, walking away.

Cherri sat down on a stool, watching Husk. "So, you and Angie eh?" She started as he poured her a drink.

Husk raised an eyebrow. "I don't follow." "You two are gettin' prettya close." "It ain't bad to have a friend. Ain't nothin' more or less."

Cherri sighed since she wasn't getting the reaction she wanted. "It's nice to see him happy. He looks genuinely happy near ya. It better stay that way."

Husk chuckled, shaking his head. " I can promise you I won't do nothin'. I ain't like that." he said, leaning against the counter.

Both of them snapped their heads to the door when it opened, Angel staggering in. Cherri got up immediately, helping him over to the bar.

Husk studied Angel, looking at the bruises that were still forming on his white body. They always stuck out like a sore thumb.

Cherri stayed quiet, inspecting his wounds. Husk poured him a shot, watching quietly. Angel took the shot, rubbing his temples.
