Disclaimer: this takes place after Angel has fully healed.

Angel woke up, glancing around his dark room. He rubbed his eyes, nuzzling into Husker's chest. Husk moved his hand into Angel's hair, half awake. He kept his eyes closed, playing with Angel's hair.

Angel grabbed his phone, checking his messages. He set his phone down, the screen showing messages repeatedly popping up.

Angel messed with husks fur, reading the messages as they came in. Husk glanced over at the phone, blinking. "Hm?" "Valentino." Angel whispered.

Husk hugged Angel tighter, holding him to his chest. "I don't wanna go." Angel let out, his voice cracking.

Husk kissed the top of his head. "Then stay." "I can't. I have to-" Angel hissed, sitting up. Husk propped himself up on one arm, his ears twitching.

Angel got up, feeding Nugs. He fixed his hair, grabbing a change of clothes. He went into the bathroom to change and do his makeup, coming back out in a minorly slutty outfit.

Husk was sitting up now, rubbing his eyes. Angel sprayed perfume on, taking a deep breath.

"Velvet said he shouldn't hurt me today. I'll be okay." He said quietly. Husk sighed, "Charlie isn't gonna be happy." "Charlie can suck it up. It's been a while since I went, it's only right I go."

Husk stood up, following Angel downstairs. Angel kept messing with his gloves nervously, avoiding looking at anyone.

"Hey Angel!" Charlie smiled, giving a slight wave. Angel glanced up, doing a half wave. Charlie frowned. "Are you okay??" "Fine, toots."

"Are we doin' any trust shits today?" "Uhm, yes actually! Thank you for ask-" "I ain't doin' em. I can't. I got work."

Charlie looked taken aback, furrowing her brows. "Angel- we haven't done them much lately so you could heal- I thought you weren't supposed to go back yet?" "Well, you were wrong. If I'm up for it when I get back we can do them."

"You never are, you're always exhausted-" " exactly. I'm not doing them today." "But-"

Angel shook his head, fixing his hair. "I ain't doin' them. And if I find out you are trying to come to my work I will stay there longer. We will most likely have a repeat of last time. And then it'll be even longer before you get another trust exercise in. Just do it without me. Ya got enough people."

"Angel, please!" Charlie said, grabbing his arm. Angel shoved her off, "Get the fuck off of me! No. And I mean it! I'm not staying." Angel spat, turning to walk away.

Charlie stood, staring after him. Her expression looked worried and hurt, and she reached after him, but did not follow.

Angel walked out, closing the door behind him. Husk sighed, rubbing his eyes. "I'm too tired for this shit."

"You look like you just rolled out of bed." Vaggie said, raising an eyebrow. "I did." Husk replied, his tail swaying.

"Is there a way you can fix his attitude? He only listens to you." "Listen to him. That's it." Husk shrugged, slumping down in a chair.

"he likes it when people actually listen to the words he's saying. If he tells you not to do somethin', don't do it. Unless he's being irrational. He's not in the right head space right now. He didn't mean to hurt ya." Husk said, looking at Charlie.

"His idea of Valentino is.. questionable. He doesn't want anyone getting hurt, so he goes to work so Valentino doesn't come here. He doesn't want Valentino to get killed, and he doesn't want anyone here to get hurt."
