Evelyn's POV:

Once we saved Lae'zel from her captors, we went to set up camp. I gathered some firewood while the others made their tents. Once I started the campfire and sat down, it had been a while since I slept out in the woods or outside for that matter. I looked up at the night sky and was amazed by how many stars there were tonight. The dragonborn made sure everyone was alright as he talked to the others. I zoned out; the stars made me feel safe and somewhat free. I sighed at the thought then someone touched my shoulder. 'Are you okay?' I turned my head and saw the dragonborn, then smiled. 'Yeah, it's been a while since I went to the surface. Well, we've been on the surface, the stars are beautiful tonight.' I looked up at the night sky again as the dragonborn sat down next to me. 'So, we're at camp. Can you tell me a story about how we met?' The dragonborn said as he joined me in looking up at the stars. Then I looked at him with a soft smile. 'Sure, why not? When we were kids, you grew up differently than the others, so I decided to be your friend and you didn't mind it at all.' I looked back at the stars. 'But then something happened to you, and it made me worry about you because you were on a murderous rampage. I decided to stop you so no one could hurt you, but to my surprise, you never hurt me when I stopped your murderous rampage. You just snapped back into reality, and once you did, you were a shaken mess. But we ran somewhere where no one could find us.' The dragonborn looked at me. 'Where did we hide?' I looked at the dragonborn. 'In the sewers, but a gang tried to take you away once we got in. I fought them off so you could have run, but you didn't. You felt like you were home with the gang, and then it was your father's worshippers bringing you home. I killed at least three of them, and your father was amazed I didn't abandon you but fought off his worshippers. That took guts because the worshippers your father had were a bunch of psychotic murderers.' The dragonborn looked at me, worried. 'Did my father hurt you once we got to his house?' I chuckled. 'It was a Temple, but no, he didn't hurt me once we got there. He said he'd make me your royal guard to protect you, care for you, and even die for you if that moment came. I even pledged it.' The dragonborn hugged me and I felt uncomfortable. 'My lord, what are you doing?' I asked then the dragonborn said, 'Why did you do a stupid thing like that? I want you to live, don't die for me.' I sighed. 'Because you're the only family I had; I had nothing when I met you.' The dragonborn looked at me. 'You never had a family before?' I nodded. 'Yeah, they abandoned me when I was a toddler.' The dragonborn hugged me protectively, and I felt really uncomfortable. 'My lord, why are you holding me so close?' I asked, and he looked sad. 'It's called a hug; sometimes people need one after what they've gone through.' I looked at him confused. 'A hug? Does it harm anyone?' The dragonborn shook his head. 'No, it's safe.' I slowly relaxed in the hold. 'There's no dagger going in my back, is there?' I joked, and the dragonborn went silent.

The dark urge POV:

I was the only thing that my bodyguard had; she even pledged her life to die for me. What was she thinking? I know we were kids, but no kid should pledge their life away and miss out on childhood. It's sad enough she doesn't know what a hug is. I thought to myself while I have my bodyguard in my arms, 'I promise I'll protect you too,' I said in my head as I hug her closely. 'Well, now we have each other because I lost my memories on the ship. Some come back now and again, but it's just dead bodies that I killed,' I shiver. 'Was I a terrible person before I lost my memories?' My bodyguard looks up at me. 'That for you have to figure out yourself. I already told you too much,' she said softly and rested her head on me. I look down at her. 'Thank you for telling me how we met, and I promise I'll be good. I won't hurt anyone,' my bodyguard sighed softly. 'If you don't want to hurt anyone, that's your choice, my lord. I promise you I won't leave your side no matter what happens,' she closed her eyes and drifted off. I put her in the bedroll and looked at her scar across her eye and sighed. Astarion came over, 'Are you alright, darling?' he asked and saw my bodyguard asleep, and he smiled. 'Wow, I never knew she looked so peaceful in her sleep,' he joked. I got up. 'Yeah, I didn't know she could sleep. I was worried she was going to stay up all night for my sake,' I said sadly. Astarion looked up at me worried. 'Did she tell you anything about how you met?' He asked, and I felt guilty. 'Oh yeah, she pledged her life away for me because I was the only thing that she had. She had no family, no friends; she didn't even know what a hug was!' I said with anger mixed with sadness. 'It's just stupid to pledge yourself at a young age. She deserved better.' I looked sad, and Astarion looked at me then at her. 'I understand, but you've got to think she did it for herself too because you guys have each other. What I noticed is she protects you like a big sister. Hells, she almost ended me because I slightly pulled out my dagger,' he chuckled, and I looked at Astarion. 'Yeah, I guess you're right.' I looked at my bodyguard. 'I don't remember her name.' I looked at Astarion sadly. 'Can you help me?' Astarion got nervous. 'Help you with what?' He asked. 'Can you help me get her name?' Astarion looked at me. 'Really? She wants me dead, darling. Ask Gale or Shadowheart; they'll get more answers than me.' He smirked. 'I don't want a dagger against my throat again.' I look at Gale, 'maybe gale somewhat an open-minded guy.' I walk toward Gale as he's reading a book. 'Hey, Gale?' Gale looks up at me. 'Oh, hello again. Do you need something?' He smiles, and I look at my bodyguard as she's still sleeping. I turn back to look at Gale. 'Yeah, I need your help with something.' Gale looks at my bodyguard. 'Is it something to do with your bodyguard?' I nod. 'I don't remember her name. I was wondering, when she wakes up, can you ask?' Gale looks confused. 'Why can't you do it?' he asks. I look away. 'Because I don't want to break her heart; she has had enough of those already,' I say sadly. Gale sighs with a smile. 'Fine, I'll do it in the morning,' he says, looking back at his book. 'Thank you, Gale,' I smile. 'Anytime,' he replies. I walk to my bedroll and lay down, thinking about my bodyguard pledge. I sigh sadly and fall asleep.
