The dark urge POV:
I saw Evelyn and Shadowheart back at camp and walked over to them. 'Hello Evelyn and Shadowheart,' I smiled. Evelyn smiled. 'Hello my lord, is something the matter?' Shadowheart waved at me then left Evelyn to see Karlach. I looked at Evelyn. 'No, just saying hi. I haven't seen you all day.' Evelyn smiled. 'Oh, sorry my lord, I've been hanging out with Shadowheart.' I looked down at her. 'Don't be sorry, Evelyn. I'm happy you're making friends.' Evelyn looked at Shadowheart. 'Yeah, have you met the new person?' I looked at Evelyn with my arms crossed. 'Yeah, she seems very nice. How about you hang out with her?' Evelyn looked at me. 'Absolutely not, my lord... I don't trust her.' I sighed softly. 'Why is that, Evelyn?' Evelyn looked at Karlach. 'She recognized me and my name... no one should know my name except the people I can trust.' I looked at Karlach. 'What do you mean she recognized your name? Did Shadowheart tell her?' Evelyn nodded. 'Yes, my lord.' I looked at Shadowheart talking to Karlach. 'I'm surprised. You don't trust Karlach, yet you let Shadowheart talk to her.' Evelyn sighed softly. 'Because Shadowheart trusts her, I'm not holding her back from Karlach. Shadowheart says she's innocent... yet I'm cautious.' Karlach looked at us and walked up to us. 'Hey soldier! How was the woods?' Karlach looked at Evelyn and Evelyn looked up at Karlach, then she walked away to see Gale. I sighed softly. 'Sorry, Karlach.' Karlach smiled happily. 'It's okay, soldier. Maybe she'll have a conversation with me, hopefully.' I smiled. 'Hopefully soon.' Shadowheart walked behind Karlach. 'Evelyn still not talking to you, Karlach?' Shadowheart sighed softly, and Karlach turned around. 'Yeah, but I understand. It takes time.' Shadowheart looked up at Karlach. 'Yeah, but Evelyn should talk to you by now. Wait, I have an idea!' Shadowheart walked to Evelyn.
Evelyn POV:
I looked at Gale. 'Hello, Gale,' I smiled softly, and Gale looked at me. 'Oh, hello Evelyn, how are you?' he smiled, and I crossed my arms. 'I'm good. Have you met the new person?' Gale looked at Karlach. 'Yeah, she's very friendly and has a really positive outlook. Why don't you trust her, Evelyn?' I looked away. 'I - I don't know. Every time I look at her, I feel cautious... Yet Shadowheart says she's innocent.' Gale smiled. 'You should give her a chance, Evelyn. You might find your answer.' I looked at Gale. 'But she recognized me. I know she wasn't just talking about the ship... Even my name, she recognized.' I sighed softly, and Gale looked at me. 'Who told her your name?' I sighed deeply. 'Shadowheart did, but there are fake paladins after her. I killed them because Shadowheart trusted Karlach... So if Shadowheart trusts her, I'll protect Karlach. But that doesn't mean I trust her; I do it for Shadowheart.' I looked at Gale, and he smiled. 'You should at least talk to Karlach, Evelyn. I promise you she's not an enemy.' I sighed softly and felt someone hold my arm. I looked and saw Shadowheart, and I smiled softly. 'Hello, Shadowheart. May I help you with something?' Shadowheart pulled me. 'Yes, come with me.' I looked at her as I didn't move a muscle when she pulled me. 'What is it, Shadowheart?' Shadowheart looked at me. 'You'll see.' Shadowheart held my hand, and I held hers as I sighed softly. 'Okay, Shadowheart.' I walked with Shadowheart as we walked towards Karlach, and I looked at Shadowheart. 'Shadowheart, I do not trust her yet.' Shadowheart looked at me softly. 'Can you stay with me then when I talk to her? Please.' I looked at Shadowheart as I sighed softly. 'Fine.' I held Shadowheart's hand close. When we got to Karlach and the Dragonborn, I looked at Karlach and remained silent, while Shadowheart looked at Karlach with a smile. 'See, Evelyn, Karlach is very harmless,' Shadowheart said. 'I promise you.' Shadowheart rubbed my hand, and I looked at Shadowheart softly, then at Karlach. Karlach smiled happily. 'That's true, soldier. I just want friends. I haven't had anyone for ten years. I've been in Avernus fighting. Now I'm finally free!' I looked at Karlach again. 'I see.' I crossed my arms, and Shadowheart stood next to Karlach. 'See, I'm even standing next to her, Evelyn. She hasn't pulled anything,' Shadowheart said. I looked at Karlach and sighed deeply. 'That doesn't mean anything, Shadowheart. Some people act harmless to get close enough to strike,' I said. Karlach sighed softly. 'How do you want me to prove I'm innocent, Evelyn?' I looked at Karlach. 'First, don't call me by my name. Second, you don't need to prove anything if you are innocent. Third, if I feel like you are trustworthy enough, I'll feel comfortable with you, but I'm not there yet,' I said. I sighed, and Karlach smiled happily. 'You said 'yet', so I have a chance to be your friend! Yes!' Karlach got excited. 'I can't wait! I've never had a Drow as a friend before. Oh, this will be so exciting!' She chuckled, and I looked at her softly, then snapped back. 'Ugh, why are you so loud? Being friends with me isn't really exciting,' I said. Karlach's eyes lit up. 'Yes, it is! Especially when Astarion told me how fast you can knock someone down. I really want to see that,' Karlach shouted excitedly. I noticed Karlach light up, and I sighed with a smile. 'Calm yourself, Karlach. I don't want you to burn out,' I said. Karlach chuckled. 'Sorry, I'm so excited! Wait! You said my name! Are we friends now?' I sighed softly. 'I guess you can say that, Karlach.' Karlach hugged me very close as she moved her body side to side. 'I assume that as a yes!' I looked down at her because she picked me up, hugging me. 'Karlach, put me down, please,' I said. Karlach looked at me with the happiest smile I've ever seen. 'Oh, yeah, give me a minute.' She hugged me closer, and I sighed softly as I patted her head. Shadowheart and the Dragonborn smiled at us. Then, Karlach put me down, and I looked at Karlach with a smile. 'Now, I trust you just a bit, though,' I said. Karlach hugged me. 'I'll take it!' I sighed softly. 'How about you show me your fighting skills on me?' Karlach's eyes lit up. 'Are you sure, ma'am?' I pulled away from her. 'Yes, show me,' I said. I pulled up my hair, and Karlach was hesitant. 'I don't want to hurt you, ma'am,' Karlach said. I looked at Karlach with a smile. 'Trust me, you won't hurt me, Karlach.' I made a distance from Karlach as I reached out to her with my hand. 'Now, come for me. Show me. Make me trust you, Karlach,' I said. Karlach looked at me and smiled softly. 'Okay'. She charged at me fast and I dodged her weapon, and grabbed her shoulders. 'Don't let me touch you, Karlach,' Karlach looked behind at me with a smile. 'Whoa, you are fast... how do I do that?' I let go of her with a smile. 'Everyone has a weakness, Karlach. Now, again.' Karlach ran at me again, and I smiled softly as I went underneath her and tripped her. Karlach steadied herself and moved her battle axe at me, and I dodged it again by doing a front flip. I landed behind Karlach. 'Karlach, you're thinking. If I were an enemy, you'd be dead. Your thoughts is distracting you. Free your mind,' I looked at her and Karlach looked at me softly. 'Sorry, ma'am, I'm just scared I might hurt you,' I sighed deeply. 'Your enemy doesn't care about fear; they feed off it and take advantage. Now, again.' Karlach nodded and she ran at me again, swinging her battle axe back and forth. I jumped on top of the handle, Karlach's eyes lit up. 'Holy..shit!.' I looked at her with a sigh and took Karlach's weapon without her realizing it. I pointed it at her, and she snapped back. 'Wait, what!? How...?' She looked at me excitedly, and I dropped her weapon. 'You are distracted, Karlach. How about I run at you this time? Make sure I don't get close to you.' Karlach picked up her weapon. 'Okay, ma'am.' I ran to her, and Karlach watched me closely. I disappeared, and Karlach moved her head around, looking for me. Then, she saw me for a split second. 'Got you!' She smacked her weapon at the ground, and I was on her back. 'You almost got it, Karlach.' Karlach looked at me. 'How do I keep up with you?' I got off of her. 'Find my weak point, Karlach. Then you might have a chance.' Karlach sighed softly. 'I kill demons and devils then some more, but you are very, very difficult to read.' I crossed my arms with a smile. 'I think that's a compliment?' Karlach smiled at me. 'It's a hell of a compliment.' I looked at Karlach. 'I see what you did there.' I smiled, and Karlach put her weapon away. 'I'm going to call it there, ma'am.' I looked at Karlach with a smile. 'You can call me Evelyn now.' Karlach's eyes lit up, and she hugged me close again. 'Thank you! Thank you!' I sighed as I let it happen and patted her back. 'Okay, Karlach, calm down.' Karlach lifted me up and spun around as she smiled happily. I sighed softly. 'Karlach, please put me down.' Karlach hugged me again. 'Okay, just one more thing, Evelyn.' I looked at Karlach as she held me very close to her. 'Thank you, Evelyn...' And I looked at her. 'For?' Karlach let go of me. 'For being my friend!' I looked up at her and smiled with a sigh. 'No problem, Karlach.' Shadowheart walks towards us. 'That was fun to watch. So, Evelyn, do you feel comfortable around Karlach now?' I look at Shadowheart and then up at Karlach with a smile. 'Sure, you can say that,' Karlach smiles back. 'I'll take that as a yes.' The Dragonborn hugs me, Karlach and Shadowheart group up, and I sigh with a smile. Karlach hugs back as I and Shadowheart are in the middle of them. I feel snug as Shadowheart hugs me, and I feel safe as I hug Shadowheart back closely. Karlach and the Dragonborn look at us with a smile, then they let go. Shadowheart relaxes in my arms, and I rub her head. Karlach yawns, and the Dragonborn smiles. 'We should call it a night now, huh?' Astarion walks over. 'Amazing performance, Evelyn and Karlach,' I look at Astarion with a smirk. 'I was wondering where you went, Astarion. Want to show off your skills too?' Astarion smirks. 'With anyone else, yes, but with you, Evelyn, it would be suicide. I know how you get if you're excited in combat.' Astarion and I chuckle. Shadowheart rests her head on my chest and closes her eyes while hugging me. I lift her up so she can fall asleep on me. Shadowheart rest her head on my shoulder and her legs around me as she falls asleep. I rub her back. 'I think Shadowheart and I are going to call it a night. We both had a long day. See you guys in the morning,' The Dragonborn hugs me. 'Goodnight, Evelyn,' I hug him back. 'Goodnight, my lord.' I walk to Shadowheart's tent, went in, lay Shadowheart down on her bedroll, and sit down next to her facing the door. Shadowheart wakes up slowly and turns to look at me. 'Evelyn...' I look at Shadowheart with a smile. 'It's okay, Shadowheart. I'm here. Go back to sleep,' I rub her head softly. Shadowheart looks at me. 'Lay down. I want you to stay the full night... with me.' Shadowheart pulls me down, and I look at her as she instantly hugs me once I lay down. I feel very safe and hug her back closely, and we both fall asleep.
