The Dark Urge POV
I walk towards Evelyn as Gale and Shadowheart looked worried. I stand in front of her and Evelyn looks up at me. She hugs me close and tears up. I notice I pull her away from me, get to her height with my hands on her shoulders. 'Evelyn, please tell me what's going on. I know you want to protect me and keep your secrets, but it's eating you, making you have nightmares. Sometimes you don't even look at me half the time or you hug me a lot like you'll lose me.' Evelyn looks at me with tears going down her face. 'My lord, I can't put it into words. It's difficult,' she hugs me again but closer and lowers her head. 'But I promise you, I won't lose you again.' Evelyn closes her eyes and I hug her back. 'Again? You lost me before?' Evelyn's hug tightens, and she remains silent. I look at her. 'Evelyn?' Evelyn: '..yes.. I have, but never again. I'll kill anyone who tries to take you away from us and make them suffer slowly.' I sigh softly. 'Evelyn, you know we're a team. You don't have to protect us. Let us protect you sometimes.' Evelyn looks at me. 'No, I can't. It's my job to protect you guys. I won't let anyone hurt you guys.' I look at Evelyn with a sigh, and Shadowheart hugs Evelyn from behind. 'Evelyn, we don't want you to get hurt too. We aren't weak; we can protect you too. This isn't your burden.' Shadowheart rests her head on Evelyn's back, and Evelyn relaxes, and Gale places a hand on her shoulder with a smile 'Yeah, we can protect you, Evelyn. You don't have to fight this alone.' Evelyn looks at Gale softly. 'I...' I smile at them and stand up. 'See, Evelyn, everyone wants to protect you if you give them a chance. Now let's go on an adventure; you might kill something.' I pat her head and walk away from them to Astarion. 'Ready to leave camp?' Astarion smiles at me. 'Yes, darling.' I look at him with a smile. 'Oh, about you biting me.' Astarion sighs. 'I said I'm sorry, unless you're looking for another nimble?' His eyes soften and I look, noticing, 'Maybe later, I'm still recovering from the last time,' Astarion smiled. 'I promise you I'll be quiet next time you snuggle up in your bedroll. Maybe we can get some little privacy; we don't want to wake the others,' he winked at me, and I got chills running down my back as I looked away. 'I...' I lost my words and sighed, 'we might,' I looked back at him with a smirk, and Astarion chuckled, 'Oh, you're not shy anymore, darling?' I looked down at him, 'Shy? Why would I be shy?' Astarion put one finger on my chest, and I looked away; he smiled, 'Exactly, I never see this side of you, darling.' I looked at him again and held his hand gently, 'I just remember this feeling before... I can't remember anything... but it feels nice.' Astarion looked up softly, 'Oh? Darling, are you saying?' I realized and looked away from Astarion as He smirked at me, 'I mean, if you want to-' I looked at him, panicking, 'No, that's not what I meant... I... I.' Astarion sighed softly, 'Darling, relax. We don't have to do anything. I'm going to get ready.' He smiled at me and walked away as I covered my face, embarrassed.
Evelyn POV:
I smiled as I saw what happened with my lord and Astarion as Shadowheart was brushing my hair, getting me ready for the adventure. 'They're cute together, don't you agree, Shadowheart?' I looked up at her as I was sitting on the ground and Shadowheart sitting on the stool. She smiled, 'Yeah, they are, especially the Dragonborn. How quickly he looks away all shy.' I smiled and then sighed softly, 'Hopefully, Astarion can make him forget his business partner. I like Astarion more than him.' Shadowheart looked at me, 'He has a business partner?' I nodded, 'Yeah, they were close, but his business partner hated me.' I smirked as Shadowheart smiled at me, 'What did you do?' I chuckled softly, 'Let's say I can't be fooled easily. My lord's business partner is an enemy to his father, but he made an alliance despite his father's rules. My lord grew close to him. He goes up to see him without any business to discuss.' I sighed softly, 'He has no memory of his face, but his name. I think he might remember...' I looked at the Dragonborn as he talked to Astarion again, and I smiled softly as Shadowheart was done putting up my hair. 'So what's his business partner's name?' I got up and stretched. 'Hmm...' I looked at Shadowheart softly, 'You promise to keep it a secret?' Shadowheart smiled, 'Well, of course, Evelyn.' She giggled at me, and I smiled and whispered it to her, 'Enver Gortash.' Shadowheart looked at me I pull out my hand to her. 'He sounds familiar. I never met him but I heard of him,' I say. 'Count yourself lucky; he's a prick with the stupid fancy coat,' Shadowheart giggles. 'Stupid fancy coat, huh?' She takes my hand and I pull her up. 'Yeah, he thinks highly about himself. When my lord is with him, he's untouchable because my lord is fast and clean with his kills,' I say, sighing deeply but smiling happily. 'Now the prick dealing with my lord's sister, she's very messy with her kills,' I explain. Shadowheart smiles with me. 'We should get going; the guys are waiting for us,' I suggest. Shadowheart holds my hand, and we walk toward them.
The Dark Urge POV:
I look at Evelyn and Shadowheart with a smile. 'Ready?' They nod, and we leave camp, walking until we reach the blighted village. Evelyn notices goblins on the roofs and smiles happily. 'My lord, there are goblins up ahead. Can I kill them?' Astarion chuckles, and I look down at her. 'Let's see if they attack first. If they do, they're all yours,' I smile at her, and she nods. 'Okay, my lord.' I walk into the village, and the goblin stops me, threatening me until she sees Evelyn. 'Wait, a Drow in the sun? Stand down! This one's got a touch of the Absolute about her.' I look at Evelyn, and she looks at the goblin angrily. The goblin notices. 'Apologies, your lordship. It's hard making you out from a distance.' Evelyn pulls out her dagger, 'I should pluck out your eyes, you're clearly not using them,' she said in an annoyed tone. Shadowheart and Astarion watch Evelyn as the goblin begs for its life, 'Please, your greatness. It was an honest mistake, is all you'll get no more trouble from us, promise.' Evelyn looks up at me and then at the goblin, 'Before I go, apologize to him,' Evelyn points at me. 'If you don't, I'll take your limbs starting with the eyes.' Evelyn crosses her arms, waiting for the goblin to apologize to me, and the goblin looks at me, 'I'm sorry, Dragonborn. I won't give you trouble again.' The goblin has their hands up, and Evelyn looks at me again, 'Do you forgive them? If not, I'll kill them.' The goblin panics, 'T-there's no need, your greatness.' I sigh softly, 'Let them go, I forgive them.' Evelyn puts her dagger away, 'You should all be thankful for him protecting your pathetic lives.' Evelyn grabs my hand, Shadowheart and Astarion follow us. Astarion smiles, 'Wow, that was eventful. Sadly, there wasn't bloodshed though.' Evelyn looks at Astarion with a smile, 'Maybe next time we can, once we get the druid, we can come back here.' I look at Astarion and Evelyn with a smile, and Shadowheart joins me. 'I'm glad you guys are getting along. The first time you guys met each other, you were at each other's throats,' Astarion and Evelyn chuckled. Evelyn wraps her arm around Astarion's neck and pulls him down as she messes up his hair. 'We have, haven't we, Astarion?' Astarion tries to stand up, but Evelyn is too strong. I smiled. 'Hey Evelyn, can you let him go?' Evelyn looks up at me and then down at Astarion as he struggles to get out of Evelyn's arm. 'I guess,' she chuckles and lets go of Astarion, who then does the same to her. 'It's only fair I do it back,' as they both chuckle. Evelyn stands up straight effortlessly, and Astarion smiles. 'Hey, no fair!' Evelyn smiles at him until I do the same to them, and they look up at me. Astarion smiles. 'Not you too, darling. Evelyn, good luck getting out.' Evelyn looks at Astarion with a smile. 'Watch and learn, Astarion,' Evelyn says as she gets out of my grasp and gets on my back, wrapping her arm around my neck. But then she stops '...' She hugs me close and I look up at her. 'Evelyn, are you okay?' She nods and rests her head on my shoulder. 'Yeah, I didn't mea-' I cut her off. 'We're only playing, Evelyn. We weren't hurting each other.' Evelyn feels safe on my back, and I smile. 'Did we tire you out, Evelyn?' She wraps her arms around my neck softly so she can stay on my back. Astarion and Shadowheart smile at us as Evelyn says, 'No, I'm not tired. I feel safe on your back... it's nice and warm.' I hold her legs so she doesn't slip off. 'I'm glad, Evelyn. I'll carry you to the goblin camp, then I'll let you down.' Evelyn nods and closes her eyes as Astarion smiles, and Shadowheart looks at Evelyn, making sure she's okay.
