Evelyn POV:

Once Gale and I finished talking, the rest woke up. I thought about what Gale said as I sighed. Shadowheart walked to me. 'Evelyn, where were you? I woke up and you weren't there,' Shadowheart hugged me close, and I hugged her back. 'Sorry, Shadowheart, I couldn't sleep, and I didn't want to wake you.' Shadowheart looked at me worried. 'Nightmares again?' I looked at her with a smile. 'No, not this time. I was scouting for any intruders.' Shadowheart sighed softly. 'Evelyn, I told you there's nothing out there.' I looked at the Dragonborn and Astarion as they were talking. 'You never know, Shadowheart. The intruders can be invisible.' Shadowheart saw me troubled. 'Evelyn? Are you sure you are alright?' Shadowheart placed her hand on my face gently, making me look at her, and I looked at Shadowheart softly. 'Yes, yes, I am, Shadowheart. Why?' Shadowheart looked worried. 'Because you seem troubled today. Did something happen?' I held her hand that was on my face and sighed softly. 'I'm fine, Shadowheart. I promise you.' I relaxed, and Shadowheart rubbed my cheek. 'Okay, I trust you, Evelyn.' Shadowheart held my other hand. 'Let me fix your hair; it's everywhere,' she chuckled, and I smiled. 'Okay, Shadowheart.' I held her hand as I walked with Shadowheart back to her tent. Shadowheart grabs a stool that she can sit on while doing my hair. I sit down on the ground waiting for her. I notice a dog in our camp. 'Shadowheart, there is a dog in our camp. Do you know anything about it?' I look at Shadowheart as she places the stool down behind me. 'I don't know, maybe the Dragonborn and Astarion picked it up,' she sits down on the stool and starts brushing my hair. I have Shadowheart's artifact, and I hold it in my hands. 'So you have to protect this thing?' Shadowheart nods. 'Yes, I have to bring it back to Baldur's Gate.' I start to play with it. 'If this artifact is your mission, why do you let me hold it?' Shadowheart smiles. 'Because I trust you, you always give it back to me after I'm done brushing your hair.' I look at Shadowheart with a smile. 'Yeah, do you know what's inside it?' Shadowheart shakes her head. 'No, it's stubborn to open.' I look back at the artifact. 'Hmm...' I play with it again, and Shadowheart smiles as she continues to brush my hair.

The Dark Urge POV:

Astarion and I noticed a scratch, and I walked towards him and kneeled to pet Scratch. 'Hello again, Scratch,' I smiled as I got up and watched Scratch roam around the camp. Astarion hugged me from behind, 'You're so warm, darling, it's nice,' I smiled. Then I thought about Alfira; guilt grew on me. 'Is that so...' Astarion heard a crack in my voice, 'Darling? Are you okay?' I breathed softly, 'Yes, yes, I'm fine.' I turned around to see Astarion with a smile. 'Are you okay, Astarion?' Astarion examined me, 'Yes, I'm fine. I'm more worried about you. You can tell me, darling.' Astarion touched my face and kissed my cheek softly, and I relaxed. 'There's nothing wrong, Astarion, I promise. We need to rescue Halsin. I don't think Minthara will like that, though...' Astarion smiled at me, 'We can always knock her out, darling,' he rubbed my face, and I thought about it. 'It won't hurt her, will it?'Astarion sighed softly, 'It may hurt just a little bit, but it won't kill her, I promise.' I looked worried. 'I don't want to hurt her, that's the thing.' Astarion looked at Evelyn, then at me. 'Make Evelyn do it for you, she probably will,' I look at Evelyn with a sigh. 'She probably accidentally killed Minthara. She's not exactly gentle with her targets.' Astarion chuckled. 'I know the murderous drow wants to kill everything she touches, but she does have a soft side way deep inside her. How about you tell her to knock out Minthara? She won't kill her.' Astarion crossed his arms with a smile, and I sighed softly. 'Okay, I'll tell her.' I walked toward Evelyn. 'Hey, Evelyn.' I looked at her, and Evelyn looked up at me. 'Yes, my lord?' I sighed. 'I have a mission for you.' Evelyn's eyes lit up. 'A mission for me!' she said happily, and I sighed softly. 'I want you to knock out Minthara. That means don't kill her. I want her alive the next time we meet her again. Understand, Evelyn?' Evelyn got up with a smile. 'Of course, my lord.' I looked at Shadowheart. 'Shadowheart, can you go with her?' Shadowheart stood up and nodded as Evelyn looked at Shadowheart with a smile. 'Let's go, Shadowheart.' Evelyn picked up Shadowheart and placed her on her back. Shadowheart sighed softly. 'Evelyn, you need to slow down.' She wrapped her arms around Evelyn's neck, and Evelyn looked at Shadowheart. 'Sorry, Shadowheart, I'm just excited to knock out someone. My lord, do you want me to rescue this 'Halsin' too?' I looked at Evelyn with a smile. 'If you want, Evelyn. He's in bear form. That's what Rath told me.' Evelyn looked at me softly. 'Halsin, a druid?' I nodded. 'Yes, he's an Archdruid.' Evelyn nods. 'Okay, me and Shadowheart will be back, my lord.' I watch her leave with Shadowheart, something inside me feels empty. Astarion walks towards me. 'Darling?' I stand still, then snap back and look at Astarion. 'Yes, Astarion?' Astarion holds my hand. 'Can we go somewhere private? I need to talk to you.' I look down at him and nod. 'Okay, where do you want to go?' Astarion smiles. 'I know where, follow me.' Astarion and I start to walk into the woods. Then Astarion sighs softly. 'I think it's about time I tell you...' He sighs deeply. 'I have a master named Cazador. He's a powerful vampire and he wants me back.' I look at him and pick him up so he's in my arms. 'Is he abusive?' Astarion looks at me sadly. 'Very. People with power can do whatever they hell they want.' Astarion rests his head on my shoulder and I look down at him sadly, holding him close to me. 'Don't worry, he won't hurt you while I'm around. I'll tear off his arms.' Astarion looks up at me. 'My dear, he'll snap you in two. I don't want you getting hurt. I don't want him to have you like the others.' I look at Astarion softly. 'I won't get hurt. I don't die that easily, Astarion.' I kiss Astarion's head as I hear someone approach us. I turn around to see a Gur Hunter. Astarion looks at him. 'Did I see you last night?' The Gur Hunter looks up at me. 'Excuse me, have you seen a vampire spawn? I need him back in Baldur's Gate, and he's impossible to find.' I look at the Gur Hunter as I hold Astarion protectively. 'What's the vampire's name?'The Gur Hunter looks up at me. "His name is Astarion. Are you okay, my friend?" I put Astarion on my back, and Astarion wraps his arms around my neck and relaxes with a smile. I look at the Gur Hunter. "Why would you want him?" The Gur Hunter sighs. "I'm a monster hunter. I have a tribe in Baldur's Gate. I need to find him and bring him back to interrogate him. After my tribe is done with him, we will kill him." My urge screams and wants out. Astarion looks at the Gur Hunter with a smile. "You should probably run." The Gur Hunter looks at Astarion, confused. "Wha-" My body grabs the Gur Hunter's head, lifts him up as my claws go through his head, throws him hard to the ground, and the urge stands on his back. "Scream, little monster hunter," Astarion hides his face into my back because it's horrid. The urge breaks the hunter's back, then grabs the hunter's neck and drags him farther into the woods. Astarion slowly looks at the Gur Hunter, who is unrecognizable with his bones sticking out of him.Astarion felt sick and held me close, 'darling..?' The urge looked up at Astarion, 'Don't worry, the little monster hunter won't be a problem anymore.' The urge looked at the Gur Hunter and smiled, 'Let's see if he can swim.' The urge started to laugh insanely as he picked up the Gur Hunter and was about to throw him, but Astarion stopped the urge, 'Darling, he's had enough.' Astarion is scared of the urge, and the urge stopped laughing and dropped the hunter. Astarion started to panic, and the urge grabbed Astarion and placed him down, 'Are you terrified?' The urge tilted my head, and Astarion, scared to answer, the urge hugged Astarion close, 'I thought you liked me like this, I'm the fun side you said.' Astarion hugged back, 'I do like this side of you, but I wasn't ready for it, darling.' The urge rested my head on Astarion's head and calmed down. Astarion relaxed and looked at the unrecognizable Gur Hunter, '...' Astarion breathed shakily as I returned, 'What..?' I panicked, 'Astarion, did I hurt you!?'I examine him, making sure he's not hurt, until I realize my arms are bloody and cramping as Astarion hugs me very close. 'Darling...' he hides his face in my chest, and I slowly look at the Gur corpse. '...fuck...Astarion, damn it.' I shake, and I look at Astarion sadly. 'Astarion..I'm sorry you have to witness that...' I covered my mouth as I hugged him protectively. 'I'm so sorry,' Astarion looked up at me. 'It's...it's okay, darling.' I teared up and let go of Astarion. 'I need to be alone for a while until...' I turned away from Astarion with a sad sigh. '...until I can understand myself better.' I was going to walk away, but Astarion stopped me. 'I'm coming with you, darl-' I looked at him. 'No, go back to camp... I just...' I looked away from him again. 'I just need time alone.' Astarion sighed as he hugged me from behind. 'No, I'm going with you, darling. I don't care. I'm not leaving you alone, especially now.' Astarion got on my back and wrapped his arms around my neck. 'You can fall apart, love. I don't judge.' I looked at the Gur Hunter sadly and then at my arms. '...I'm terrified, Astarion... This isn't me... I'm scared to love, to touch, to... be close to you. I don't want the monster in me to hurt you, Astarion.' Astarion kissed my shoulder and I looked at Astarion sadly. 'I truly care about you, Astarion... I don't want to lose you... I don't want to lose anyone...' I started to walk and closed my eyes. Astarion looked at me 'Darling, you know we will never leave you. Plus, your condition protected me from the hunter.' Astarion rested his head on my shoulder, and I looked at Astarion sadly. '...my condition protected you?' Astarion nodded with a smile. 'Yes, darling. I never expected you to give in to the urge for me.' I looked away from Astarion. 'I didn't want the hunter to hurt you, and my urge was screaming to be let out.' I sighed softly, and Astarion looked at my neck. I looked forward as I continued to walk with Astarion on my back.
