Evelyn's POV:
Once I was back at camp, I sneaked to my camp chest to get some new clothing so the dragonborn wouldn't freak out. He had enough on his plate already; seeing I'm injured would make him panicked and ask a lot of questions. I'm not ready for that. My mind is everywhere. If I'm lucky enough, I can breathe without my throat closing up on me. I sigh and get my clothes. Once I turn my back to go into the woods, Shadowheart sees me and gasps. 'Wha-' I pull her into the woods with me without the others noticing I am there. I cover Shadowheart's mouth, but not too hard so she can't breathe. I leave some space so she can. Once we're far away from the others, I let her go. 'Sorry, I just didn't want my lord to see me like this,' I sigh. Shadowheart looks very worried. 'What the hell happened to you?' She puts her hands on my wound and starts to heal it. I grab her hands softly away from me. 'Let me change into something clean, then you can heal me,' I sigh softly, turn around to take off my shirt, and Shadowheart sees big cuts from a couple from halberd on my back. She looks very worried and sad. 'You didn't answer my question. What happened to you?' I look at my damaged shirt. 'It's nothing to worry about. I just took care of some...fake paladins.' I sighed as my throat closed up. What is this feeling? Why do I feel so empty in my chest? I shake it off and take off my pants. Then Shadowheart places her hand on my wound. 'Fake paladins? How many were there?' I couldn't speak, so I lift up my hand, put up four fingers, and Shadowheart gets mad. 'Four!? You fought four of them by yourself?' I turn to face her with tears streaming down my cheeks, and she looks shocked. I shed tears. 'I'm...I'm sorry. I shouldn't yell at you. I bet you were scared,' she pulls me into a hug, and I don't know what this feeling is. I never showed any emotion. It has to be the damn tadpole. I only showed smiles, that's it. But feeling? I lost that a long time ago. I sigh and relax in Shadowheart's embrace as she rubs my head. Then I pull her away softly. 'Please don't tell anyone about this, okay, Shadowheart?' Shadowheart nods. 'How about you put some clothes on so I can actually heal you properly?' Shadowheart sits down on a log, and I put on my new clothes, then walk to her. 'So do you want me to sit or stand while you heal me?' Shadowheart smiles softly. 'You can sit. I just need your shoulders so I can heal the wounds.' I nod and sit down in front of her, relaxing against her legs. Shadowheart puts her hands on my shoulders, then uses healing on me. I feel calm, safe. My mind starts to become quiet. I rest my head on Shadowheart's lap and look up at her. Then she looks at me with a smile. 'It's okay. You're safe with me.' I feel safe with Shadowheart, then I start to drift off and fall asleep. After Shadowheart finished healing me, she rubbed my head. 'You shouldn't have faced them alone,' she sighed softly. 'Dark Lady, bless me.' Shadowheart shook me to wake me up. I slowly opened my eyes and then looked up at Shadowheart. I got up fast. 'Sorry, I didn't mean to sleep on your lap,' I let out a cough. 'Let's get going; the others are probably worried about where you went off to,' I chuckled. Shadowheart smiled and then got up. 'I'm glad you think I'm safe enough for you to rest on me,' she said, grabbing my arm. 'Come on, let's go back together.' I followed her. Then, sighing with a smile, I said, 'Yeah, you're still not telling anyone about this, right?' Shadowheart looked at me and nodded. 'Your battle wounds are safe with me,' I felt relieved. 'Thank you, Shadowheart.' Me and Shadowheart got back to the camp. She left my side to go back to her tent, and I took deep breaths because my chest was tight. Gale saw me and walked over to me. He hadn't been informed that Astarion had already asked for my name. 'Hello there, Dragonborn bodyguard. May I ask you something?' I couldn't talk; my heart was racing from overthinking. Then Gale caught on. 'Hey,' he pulled me into a hug, but I pushed him away from me and pulled out my sword. My mind was everywhere; I couldn't breathe. Was I panicking? What the hell is this feeling? Shadowheart saw and ran up to me. 'What's going on? Gale, what did you do?' She placed her hand on top of mine, and I snapped out of it. Gale looked at Shadowheart. 'She's panicking, so I tried to comfort her by hugging her,' he said. Shadowheart sighed. 'You have to start off small, Gale. Next time, hold her arm or tap her hand.' I looked at Gale, then at Shadowheart, and pulled my sword away. 'I'm sorry; I'm just a mess right now,' Shadowheart held my arm. 'Come to my tent; we can hang out together. What do you say?' I looked at her and nodded. 'Yes, I would like that.' Me and Shadowheart went back to her tent and hung out.
The dark urge POV:
I saw Evelyn was back with Shadowheart. I looked at them hanging out, and Gale walked up to me with a worried look. 'Hey, I don't think your bodyguard is in the right mindset,' he said sadly. I looked down at Gale. 'What do you mean? She looks fine with Shadowheart,' I said, looking back over to them. Gale joined me. 'Your bodyguard was panicking about something,' he said. I looked at him. 'Evelyn never showed any emotions; she was a stone-faced person. She only smiles, that's it,' I said, looking at Astarion, who was back with lunch because it was in the afternoon. Gale looked at Evelyn, then at me. 'Does she know anything else than a smile?' I looked back at him annoyed. 'Gale, she has no emotion. Nothing can scare her, nothing can make her cry or anything else,' I said. Gale looked shocked. 'Well, that's not healthy. I'll give her a book so she can learn what she is feeling,' Gale said, as he went back to his tent to find a book. I sighed deeply and thought about what Gale said. Then something hit my ruined brain. 'The tadpole, I forgot she has one too. I felt terrible. The tadpole probably gives her emotions back. I walked toward Evelyn and Shadowheart. 'Hey guys, what are you two up to?' Evelyn looked up at me with a smile. 'Shadowheart is just keeping me company,' Evelyn said, as Shadowheart braided her hair. 'Yeah,' Shadowheart replied with a smile. Evelyn was playing with the artifact that Shadowheart gave her so Evelyn's mind stays quiet. I smiled. 'Okay, I'm just making sure you guys are okay,' I said as I walked away from them and headed towards Astarion. 'Hey, Astarion, can we chat for a moment? I need to ask you something.'
