So at about 11 am today I landed at La Aurora airport in Guatemala City!!!
I wasn't supposed to leave until the 12th, but things came up and I went with Zack. I was supposed to be escorting my younger brother but last minute my parents decided it was better for him to stay here an do landscaping with my dad. I still needed to go to Guatemala though and renew some paperwork as did Rosa (Zacks mama). Therefore, it was decided on Tuesday night that me and Zack would go together to do the paperwork and to work on our respective houses.
We flew from SEATAC (Seattle airport) and landed at Houston at 6 this morning. At about 7 we took off and landed in Guatemala 4 hours later.
As soon as we landed I called my brother to come and pick us up and drive us back to our village. So I've been here for about an hour and a half.

Where is here?
Here is my house which is down the street from Zacks. We have chickens, cows and goats which my abuela usually take care of as well as our large garden. In return we send money back every month.
Both of our parents told us to stay together so tonight we are sleeping at Zacks house as mine is wayyyyy smaller than his.

Tomorrow we will go to the nessacary offices to fill out paperwork then hang out with family and friends. we are only staying until the 14th though. Maybe during that time we can visit Lake Aitilan. It's been a while since I was here and I'm honestly glad to be back. It's just there are two reasons why I'm not glad:
1.) I forgot how poor people are here and how many people here live in poverty, also how much corruption/ crime there is and it's so sad that our government dosent do much to help.
2.) literally Everyone is going to be asking when me and Zack are getting married. it's so annoying. A lot of the Mayans here get married or just get pregnant soo young, it's really sad. My parents made us promise when we were young we would make something of ourselves before we committed like that. For example, my friend Ana's parents had her when they were 13. That's fricking idk, I don't have words for it. But they young parenthood is because the life expectancy there is way shorter than it is in the US, so if you don't have kids when you are young, then you will have no one to look after when you are you old and can no longer work. However, all most everyone in my village has a relative in the US to send money back to them so things have gotten a bit better here is Soloma.

Well, I have to go, Zack just called me and said he will be here in 5 so I must go change into my corte like a proper Guate girl :/ have a good day everyone, I'll try to update later after the 10 miles of paperwork I must do to keep my house here and my passport.
