Chapter Thirty- Six

I flop down on my bed and sigh. I don't know what to think of Four. I don't understand why he cares about me. I'm just a Stiff. I failed initiation once, and luck got me back in. I don't belong here, why does he have to make me want to stay? Someone calls my name out. I open my eyes that closed as I pictured Four's eyes looking directly into mine a few minutes ago. I sit up and stretch my arms. "Hey, Chris." I stand up and walk to the doorway of the initiates' dorm where Christina is standing. "Guess what?" She asks me, excitement evident in her voice. She is jumping up and down by now. I roll my eyes. "What could possibly be this exciting and happy in Dauntless?" I question.
"Oh, you'd be surprised how exciting I find this!" She squeals.
"Okay, tell me already!" I say.
"Will asked me out! And we're going on a date tomorrow! Can you believe it?" She cries, her eyes shining. I smile, genuinely happy for her. "That's great. I suspected that you had a thing for him," I say as I wink at her. She giggles and begins to twirl a piece of hair around get finger.
"You suspected correctly!" She replies. I laugh. "Now, grab all the Dauntless money you have. We're going shopping for the date!" Christina says excitedly. I groan. What does that have to do with me, I wonder? Then I ask my question out loud. "What it has to do with you," Chris explains as she grabs my wrists and pulls me to the door," is that you're coming on the date too! I set up a double date. Will and me, Al and you!" She finishes. I smile to myself. Hmm... Tris and Al. That could work.
