Chapter Thirty- Two

I sit down and toss my head back. It hits the wall I'm slumping against. I flinch.
"Ur...Uriah. I just... I need him!" Marlene says, tears running down her face.
"Shh... it'll be okay." Chris rubs her hands along Marlene's back.
"What it... if... if...it's not?" She asks.
"Shh... Mar we need to have hope," I say. Soon, silence takes over and we all sit still, longing for the time to come when we find out what happens to Uriah. I love Uriah- I don't know what I'd do without him filling my days with laughter. I turn my head to the clock in the room. Seven minutes have passed.
"Guys! Seven minutes have passed!" I exclaim, jumping up.
"Really?" I nod in response to Christina. The doctor comes in a moment later and says, "Alright. If it worked, which I'm sorry, isn't likely, than to will be ready." He walks to his computer had presses buttons. Then he walks to Uriah and feels for his heartbeat. He leans his head closer.
"I'm sorry. I cannot feel anything. It's as still and silent as before. And I assure it would've worked by now." He smiles with pity. " I am truly sorry. You are welcome to stay here for up to one hour and grieve. Again, I am sorry." He again throws looks of pity. "A nurse will come in when one hour is up." He looks at Marlene who has collapsed on the floor and is sobbing. "Um, will your friend be okay?" I nod, but I don't really think she will. Or any of us, honestly. "Alright. My apologies," He says awkwardly. He leaves the room and all of us fall on our knees at one, sobs racking our bodies. I feel like I've been hot by a truck. All I can do right now is think about how there will always be a empty spot nor that Uriah's gone. All I can do is cry. But suddenly, there's a sound other than crying. A voice.
"What's wrong? Guys?" Who is that. Suddenly, I realize who it sounds like. It sounds like Uriah.
