Never go a day wondering why or living with regrets. Life is too short for that.
4 years later
Paradise
"Paradise get yo ass up! You're going to be late for school!"
I heard my mother yell into my room for the third time. I hate getting up early in the morning but, I couldn't afford to be late to school again.
"Okay mama I'm getting up." I threw the covers off of me and got out of bed.
I really hate going to school which is why I'm always late but, going to schools beats staying at home with him.
After I got out the shower, I brushed my hair and put my uniform on. I looked at the clock and it read 7:10. I rolled my eyes because my mom made it seem like it was almost 8.
I made my way downstairs to the kitchen and stopped in my tracks when my eyes were met with his.
Two years after my daddy past away, my mama started dating again. I wasn't happy about that because I felt like she was just forgetting about my daddy. She knew how hard is was for me to see my father get killed. That's probably the only thing I remember when I was little and I hated it.
Micheal, my mom's new boyfriend, was sitting at the kitchen table reading the paper. I tried to sit as far away as I could from him.
"Well Goodmorning beautiful." He said a little too cheerfully.
"Morning." I said without looking at him.
My mother had just got done making breakfast and was setting our plates on the table.
"I have to go get dressed for work real quick I will be right back."
I got real nervous when I was alone with him. He was an absolute creep and I dont understand why my mom hasn't figured out what he has been doing to me.
"You look really pretty today Paradise. How bout you come over here and show me how much you love me." He grabbed my chair and scooted it closer to him. I was always too scared to do or say anything because he always threaten to kill me if I did.
Before he could do anything I heard my mother coming back into the kitchen. He quickly pushed my chair away and went back to what he was doing.
"Paradise what's wrong? You haven't ate anything on your plate."
I looked up at Micheal and he was staring at me, daring me to say something.
"Um I'm just not hungry mommy. I'm going to wait outside for the bus." I got up and gave her a kiss before grabbing my bookbag.
I didn't even make it out the yard good before I felt my arm being snatched back. I turned to face him as he was staring at me intently.
"So you just gon walk out without giving me a kiss too? You know better than that." As he was leaning down to kiss me I heard the bus pulling up.
Thank God
He smirked at me before letting my arm go.
"Have a nice day beautiful."
I ran as fast as I could to the bus. I never thought I would ever be this happy to see a school bus.
As I got on I sat next to my Bestfriend Stacy. Me and her have been friends since kindergarten and I love her like a sister.
"Hey girl, why was your mom's boyfriend so close to you like that?" I sighed, I told Stacy everything but I couldn't bring myself to tell her what's been going on. I couldn't tell anyone, I was too scared.
