Chapter 24

Delilah's (pov)

It has been a week since Xan escaped. I am staying here at Silver moon until he is caught. He was actually sighted at River moon. Meaning he knew where I was staying.

  Cassandra doubled security. I am never alone. Tomas has been attending therapy with me. Also Cassandra has been training me along with Willow.

I am part sorceress. Now I know basic spells and protection charms. I am not going down without a fight. I also refuse to be caught off guard or ambushed again.

   I was just finishing up my lunch with my other triplets. Tomas was in a meeting with Cassandra, Asher and my cousin the beta.

Tanner agreed to walk me back to Cassandra's. Dj, Dean and Travis were going to get more training in. We followed the path from my dad's towards the center of the territory.
 
Some reason I am very comfortable with Tanner. Probably since he is my brothers mate. He is also smart, sweet and super kind. I feel no way threatened by him.

I got an eerie feeling so did Tanner. I mind linked Cassandra. I think we are being followed. I stop and grab Tanner's hand and turn around. Xan I know you are there come out.

I whispered to Tanner I messaged the alpha. I mind linked Dean and Dj he responded. Out steps Xan from the woods.

Delilah come with me if you do not want your friend to be harmed. Tanner steps forward. Delilah is going nowhere with you.

I am afraid she is says Xan. No I am not going with you. I am staying with my family and my mate. This twerp is your mate how pathetic says Xan. No this is Tanner my brother in law you prick.

Xan grabs my wrist. I react by screaming and punching him in his face. Tanner pulls me behind him and gets in a defensive pose.

  I step to his side. If Xan wants a fight. I will give him one.

   I dare you Xan. Come at me again. As he lunges. I throw my hand up reciting the spell Willow taught me. A magical beam knocks him down.

As he is attempting to get up. The reinforcements come to our aid. In front is Cassandra, my mate Tomas followed by my fathers and brothers. Xan transformed into his wolf leaping towards me.

Tanner steps in front of me. Xan bites his shoulder. I transform into my wolf.

  I rip Xan from Tanner. Dj runs to his mate. My sister and Tomas attack Xan. My dad Tristan pulls me into his arms.

  You do not want to see that Delilah. Alpha Cassandra and your mate put an end to Xan says Tristan. Are you injured sweetie he asks.

No I am fine is Tanner okay. Dad he was so brave. He defended me against Xan. I am finally free from him dad. Yes you are Delilah says Tristan.

While my dad is looking me over. Tomas walks over to me just wearing shorts. He is so handsome. I completely forgot about my fear. I flung myself at him wrapping him in my arms and crying.

It is over Tomas. No more looking over my shoulder. You are touching me. Are you okay Delilah my mate says Tomas. I am great, I will still need therapy.

We will need to take it slow. However I am ready to live. Be free and work on our relationship. Thank you so much Delilah. That means the world to me as you do says Tomas.

I am going to stay here a couple more weeks. Before I head back to Moon River. When my sister gives you the okay. I will be waiting for you. Then we can continue with counseling.

Thank you for being there for me. Also Thank you and Cassandra for finishing off Xan. I grab Tomas's hand. Can we check on Tanner. I need to thank him.

If something happened to him Dj will hate me. No he would not. Your brothers love you. We walk towards Dj and Tanner. Where my dad is checking on Tanner's wounds.

Tanner will be fine. He will need a few stitches and be good as new in two or three days says Andrew my other dad. I walk up and carefully hug Tanner. Thank you for protecting me. Dj, Tanner was so brave standing up to Xan for me.

I am sorry your mate got injured. None of that Sis. Any of us would have done the same.

  I am glad he was there for you says Dj. Now I am taking my mate to the clinic. Then I am taking him back to dad's to rest says Dj.

We wish them their leave. I then tell my dad I need a shower and some rest myself. Delilah are you good if I walk with you or do you want one of your dads to join us asks Tomas.

  Tomas I am okay right now. If I ask for space just give it to me then. I can do that Delilah.

We peacefully walk back to my sister's home. Tomas grabs us both a bottle of water. We sit on the stools in the kitchen. Just enjoying the quiet together.

Then we separate to head to our rooms and shower. I promise to see him at dinner. I rinse off all the grime of the day. I clear my mind of the fear and trauma.

I now have a chance to be happy. Live my life fear free. I can grow with my mate and strengthen our relationship. Hopefully once he is done training here. I might be closer to completing the mating process with my mate.

After I am clean and my mind is clear. I get dressed in basketball shorts and a big tshirt. I want to be comfortable. I go downstairs to find Willow. She is feeding the two youngest of her children.

I join her. She inquires on how I am doing. I told her surprisingly well. I feel refreshed and ready to move on.

  That is good. For you and Tomas. He has been so worried about you. He has been making great progress says Willow.

I am proud of him. This trip has been good for him. I will miss him while he is here. I want to get back to my job and my grandparents at Moon River.

Awe how sweet you are proud of me mate questions Tomas. Yes I am you have been there for me. I have seen your growth as a man and Alpha. I am finally happy to say Tomas future alpha of the Moon River pack is my mate.

Goddess I could kiss you says Tomas. I know you are not ready but I hope you know that melts my heart says Tomas with the goofiest grin. Thank you for being so patient with me.

No problem, I told you I would wait says Tomas. Would you two like to help me start dinner asks Willow. Sure what are we making.

I pulled steak for a stir fry over rice and vegetables says Willow. That sounds delicious. Tomas you can cut the peppers and onions. Delilah you can help prepare the sauce says Willow. We all start doing our part to prepare tonight's dinner.

Moments like this. With my mate and family. Pure bliss, memories I look forward to. What could have been a horrible day. Did not turn out half bad.
