Chapter 23

Delilah's (pov)

  The next morning I wake up frantically screaming. Hoping what I remember was just another nightmare. It was worse. My greatest fears are coming true.

Xan escaped and he is coming for me. I am balling my eyes out when willow and my mate Tomas run in. Tomas comes forward and I back up in terror. I can see the hurt and pain in his eyes.

  Willow sits nexts to me. She even looks skeptical about touching me.  Tomas apologizes and wishes he could do something.

He then tells Willow he will help the children get ready to leave for school. Please come get him if he is needed. I can hear the sorrow in his voice.

Willow I am sorry. I am a burden. Is Tomas going to be okay.

Yes Delilah he is just sad because you are his mate. He wants to be the one helping and holding you. He understands you have been abused and need time.

I know he came here to get stronger and grow as a person. I heard from Ash he did well against the warriors this morning. He has a lot of stamina and power. You both will get through this says Willow.

  He sat with me with you last night. Until he needed his rest. Cassandra warned him of his packed schedule for the next few months. Of course she will let him spend time with you.

Even if it is supervised. It will be good for the both of you. Dj and his mate are traveling here. Everyone wants to ensure you are safe. Alphas orders you are not allowed to go anywhere alone explains Willow.

We love you Delilah. Until Xan is captured. You are not safe. I know Willow. I also know Cassandra will do everything in her power to catch Xan.

  Scary thing is. He has nothing to lose. He was going to be executed anyways. He is not going to care who gets hurt.

  He is a selfish egotistical Asshat. I am his toy that got away. As I say that I hear a fierce growl.

I look up and it is my mate holding some juice and muffins. You are no one's toy. Do you hear me Delilah. You are a beautiful, caring, fierce woman. Who deserves respect and to be cherished.

Here I thought you may want some juice and breakfast. Tomas sets it on my nightstand. He bows to us and turns to leave. Tomas thank you and I am sorry.

He turns around and looks me in the eyes. You sorry for what he asks. I see your pain.

  I know you want more from me. Delilah I will wait till you are ready. I seen your fear.

When Xan is caught. We then can build trust and work on us. For now you take care of yourself. I am here when you need me says Tomas.

In the meantime. I have lessons and training plus so much more to do. Your family is going to whip me into the Alpha and Mate I know I can be says Tomas.

Willow if it is okay with you. Drake asked if he could go visit with his grandads. He asked me to walk him there. Yes Tomas that is fine. Make sure you are back by 9am.

Cassandra has a meeting she wants you to take part in. Yes Luna, and thank you for being there for my mate. Tomas then heads back downstairs.

Delilah he is a keeper. The kids love him. He has been thankful, courteous and he is amazing with the children.

  I know his story. Just like Ash they learn their lessons. They know what's important.

Now eat your muffins with your juice. Then go take a shower and freshen up. Then Cassandra strongly recommended you go speak to the pack counselor. You need to start healing.

  Thanks Willow for everything. I drink my juice and enjoy my muffin. I then shower and get dressed. I just throw on some track pants and an oversized Tshirt.

I just want to be comfortable and feel hidden. I head over to the pack clinic. I really do need to talk to someone.

  I no longer want to push my mate away. I want to build our relationship. I do yearn for his touch but my fear over rides it.

   I meet up with the pack counselor Dr. Reed. She is a sweet bear wolf hybrid. She was sexually assaulted as a teen. She had some insight on what I am dealing with.

I made plans to meet with her three times a week. I am also going to meet with her once a week with Tomas if Cassandra approves it. Which I am sure she will.

Afterwards I head to my father's. I need some family time. I enjoy lunch and my afternoon with them. I then join my father's Tobalt and Theo for the afternoon training session.

My mate is there as well. My dad's go shake his hand. I wave to him and ask how his day has been. Very busy and Informational Tomas says.

Your sister Alpha Cassandra is a force. I sat in on a planning meeting with her for the Xan issue. I am glad she does not want me dead. She had some colorful language. It would have made a sailor blush says Tomas.

My dad grinned. Yes when Cassandra feels strong about something stay clear. Her family means everything to her says Tobalt. Along with all the pack members. She is an amazing Alpha and I am not saying that because she is my daughter.

I can see that. All the leadership here is great. Alpha Cassandra, Asher and Luna Willow along with the Beta and his mate. I hope one day my packs leadership can be even partially comparable says Tomas.

The pack Trainer Perry welcomes us to today's training. He starts us off with stretches. We then go into technical skills and self defense. He then separates us into groups to practice.

I ask to either be with all females or my fathers. Of course he decides to be a judgmental prick. Delilah there is no favoritism or clicks in training. You will be with who you are assigned to. I know you are the Alphas sister but that is no excuse says Perry.

I look at my mate who is about to say something in my defense. Let it be Tomas. You know I can handle myself.

  He will be the one dealing with the consequences. I say as I look at my concerned parents.

Perry puts me in a group with three men about my father's ages. As we are going through the skills we learned I am fine. As soon as we started defense training things went south.

As soon as my partner grabbed my shoulder I freaked. I cried out and went into true self defense. I blacked out and beat the poor man to unconsciousness. I woke up in my dad Tobalt's arms. My father Theo was holding back Tomas from kicking the trainer Perry's ass.

Alpha Cassandra was asking for an explanation. Tomas and my fathers explained the situation. Perry was told he would spend three days in the cells to learn a lesson. He also owed me an apology. If someone asks for special treatment he should ask for the reason next time.

I was exhausted. My dad Tobalt carried me back to Cassandra's home. She seen how upset Tomas was. She allowed him to accompany me back to their house.

Tomas just sat with me and my dad's. Cassandra told him he could spend the rest of the day with me. He was expected to arrive tomorrow for training at 5 am. Also she would see him at dinner. He was still welcomed to use the room across from mine.

   I asked Tomas if he would accompany me to my therapy once a week. He said he would do whatever I needed. He wants to be there for me. I want to be able to hold his hand and not be afraid.

I want my life back. I want to be comfortable with my mate and other males. I no longer want to constantly look over my shoulder. Living in fear is not living.

I am going to ask Cassandra to help me train. If Xan comes for me. I want to be prepared. I want to defend myself. I know I will be most comfortable with her.

   I told them I will be fine for a while. I was going to take a nap. I will join them at dinner. Tomas and my dad left rather reluctantly. I laid down for my nap.
