I am broke

"Ah come on, come with us."
I said and dragged him to the shop Ranpo already went in.

"What- no Y/N, i have some work...to..."

"Work can wait! Snacks can't."

"Isn't it supposed to be the opposite-"

"No."

Once we were inside, i looked around to find ranpo. Atsushi was still troubled though.

Spotting ranpo, i dragged Atsushi towards him. Obviously, Ranpo was already....devouring the stuff.
"Hey you could've atleast waited!"
I said to him.

He just ignored my comment and looked up at atsushi
"Yew deshysdid to jeoin ush huh?"

Atsushi nodded sheepishly.

"You can understand him?"
I said and sighed.
"Anyway! What do you wanna eat sushi?"
I said while looking through the snacks.

Atsushi again, blushed at the nickname and i looked at him a bit puzzled.
'I dont think being called sushi is cute....'

Ranpo then suddenly said,
"Y/N, this looks like you."

I looked at the thing in his hand and looked at him, disappointed, and remarked,
"I look nowhere near a mochi?! What are you saying??"

Ranpo pouted slightly,
"I was just saying."

"Atleast make it make sense...."

He shrugged and ate the mochi in his hand. I chose my favourite cake and Atsushi got dumplings.

We finished eating and i started,
"So....who's paying...?"

I glanced at atsushi once and glanced at where ranpo was SUPPOSED to be...

THAT MAN RAN AWAY F-

I scoffed loudly.
"Aint no way"

Atsushi blinked. Looking at me a bit worried, he said,
"I don't have money...."

"I dont either!"
I cried out.
"We gotta call kunikida. Atsushi you're doing it."

"WHAT NO!"

"YES YOU ARE"
I dialed kunikida's number and put the phone to his ear.

"WHAT- hey- wait...AH HE PICKED UP"
He was having a stroke.
"H-hello??"

Later

"I can't believe you guys."
Kunikida paid for the sweets as me and Atsushi stood there like two toddlers getting yelled at by their mother.

Kunikida kept saying incoherent stuff, lecturing us, and i mumbled,
"Yes Mother..."

Atsushi snorted as he tried not to laugh, seeing his reaction, i tried not to crack up as well.
Kunikida walked out the shop, still speaking, as we follow behind him.

I silently laughed, daring not to make a sound. If I had paid more attention to my surroundings, i would've noticed Atsushi smiling, as if he was relieved.

After reaching the agency, Atsushi went to his own room. Although he still looked a bit tensed, he was looking better than before.

'I hope he doesn't decide to run away now...'
I recalled what happened in the anime and went to the office. Wouldn't want to miss the drama, knowing i was gonna survive.

I entered the office to see everyone gathered at ranpo's desk. I joined them, narrowing my eyes at Ranpo for ditching us and then looking away from him, to yosano.
