The flight from North Carolina to Connecticut was the longest plane ride Gen had ever been on. Or at least that was what it felt like.

Luckily, Bailey had used her father's emergency credit card and booked the two a first-class ticket coming home. Gen was eternally grateful.

Growing up, the three Gilmore Girl's didn't have much. Lorelai struggled trying to take care of two growing twin girls. Luckily, once they moved to the town of Stars Hallow everything changed.

There, they were welcomed and treated like family. Lorelai got a job at an inn called the 'Independance Inn' and with the help of their adopted grandmother, Mia; was able to build a life for the girls.

Gen had never given the thought that the family would be considered 'poor' until her mother couldn't afford to send both twins to Chilton. Instead, Lorelai had gone to her parents practically begging for money to send her two beautiful daughters to an academy that could give them what they deserved. A chance at a life Lorelai had never gotten.

Emily and Richard Gilmore stepped into the twin's life and became more than family. Genevieve knew that she could depend on her two grandparents for whatever she needed. Richard supplied the girl with never ending books on chemistry and famous scientists. Emily made sure that Gen had the best pairs of shoes for running (as the girl was part of Chilton's cross country and track team) and taught her how to decorate a room for a gathering (when that would come in handy, Gen was still yet to know).

The best part about having her grandparents back in the three Gilmore's life was that once a week, every Friday at exactly six o clock on the dot, the five would dine at Emily and Richards. Lorelai hated the dinners; she didn't like being under the Gilmore's 'thumb'. Gen loved it. She knew that secretly, Lorelai also knew, that the five had never been closer than ever.

"Thank gosh we finally touched down or I could literally die of boredom" Genevieve exclaimed dramatically as she grabbed her bag from the overhead compartment and followed Bailey out of the plane.

Chuckling the blonde girl rolled her eyes at her best friends' dramatics. "Oh, come on Viv, it was not that bad; at least we were served a decent meal."

"That is true, however the coffee was horrendous! I must have a word with the captain." Holding her hand up in the air as if planning to invade enemy territory Gen started marching through the terminal causing weird looks to be given to the pair.

Grabbing her friend's hand and weaving them towards the baggage claim, so no one could call security on the curly haired brunette girl; Bailey looked around in search of their ride.

"What time did your mom say she was going to pick us up?" the girl asked looking at her watch.

"Around noon why?" Gen responded noticing their suitcases and pulling them off the conveyer.

"I don't see her, but I do see your other half" Bailey nodded towards Rory who had just emerged from another terminal and was making her way towards them smiling wide.

Waving her hand frantically Gen opened her arms and shouted, "ROR! MY OTHER HALF HOW GOOD IT IS TO SEE YOU"

The twins flung themselves at each other wrapping their arms in a hug. Never before had they been apart for so long and it was painful to say the least, not seeing each other. Phone calls and letters could only do so much.

Gen wondered if this was how it was going to be like. When she was at Yale and Rory at Harvard. Would they grow apart? She hoped not. Rory was her best friend. Her other half. The one who knew all her secrets and vice versa. The one she shared a womb and crib and a bedroom with growing up. Of course, once the twins hit the age of ten, Lorelai transformed the guest room into a room for Genevieve.
