"Ahh!"
"And we're home."
"How long does a freaking van ride take?"
"Not that long!"
"Everybody in the world's life flashed before my eyes. That's how much time I had. I thought we were going to die on that van." Lorelai grumbled as her, Rory, and Genevieve were finally home in Stars Hallow from their month and a half long Europe trip.
They had started their trip in London staying for four days. It was rainy and dreary, but Gen loved the crisp, cool weather. They toured dozens of coffee shops, local pubs, bookstore's and of course saw Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.
Hopping on a train to Paris, the group of Gilmore Girls went to France next. There, Gen went on a run every morning and ate coffee and baguettes next to the Eiffel Tower. They also gorged themselves on chocolate croissant after chocolate croissant.
After spending a few days in the city of love, the clan headed to Italy. This was by far, Gen's favorite place to be. Wine and pasta every night, St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums. Gelato for breakfast, lunch, and dinner kept the girls full. Rory was too scared to drink the alcoholic drinks that were offered to them even though they were at legal drinking age.
Catching a train to Florance and the Tuscan countryside, they spent their days lounging on the beach and enjoying the homemade pizza. Gen wanted to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, so she went by herself while Lorelai and Rory went to check out art in the Uffizi Gallery.
Finally, they ended up going to Ireland because Lorelai and Rory wanted to see Bono. Gen was a bit grumpy, seeing as she needed to get back to the United States and pack for Yale, however, made the most of their trip enjoying the fresh air and tried a full Irish breakfast along with their famous fish and chips.
"That van ride felt longer than our train ride from Paris to Italy and we had that group of French boys singing 'Skater Boy'." Lorelai grumbled grabbing her backpack and slinging it around her shoulders.
After a month of carrying their belongings and a couple of souvenirs carrying almost their entire body weight felt like nothing.
"I need a shower, unpack, then bed." Gen growled as she moved to go inside the house.
Suddenly, Babette came running out of her house frantically. "Oh, my god! You're back! Morey, they're back!" She shouted at the girls and her husband.
Gen sent a confused look to her mom and sister, then went inside the house to leave them to deal with the woman. Sure, Babette was nice, but once you started talking to her, the lady wouldn't stop.
Bouncing up the stairs, she threw her bag on the ground and hopped in the shower. After showering in the many hostels that they went to and feeling like she never got clean, it was nice to use some real shampoo and conditioner.
Washing her hair three times and scrubbing herself with cherry and vanilla body wash, Gen stepped out of the shower and put on her satin pajamas she purchased for herself in Paris. They were gorgeous; pink with white polka dots and a monogrammed G.L.G on the front pocket.
"Genevieve Lorelai Gilmore! Get your butt downstairs right now!" A voice shouted from below. Rolling her eyes, the girl stepped into her slippers and placed her wet curls in a bonnet.
Entering the kitchen, she found Rory and Lorelai sitting at the table with Babette making something that looked like hot cocoa. "Hey Babette, what are you doing here?" She asked trying to stifle a yawn.
"I'm making cocoa, and I want to hear everything about Europe!" The blonde woman spoke as she started heating up water. "What did you see?"
"Notre Dame, the Roman Baths, St. Peter's Basilica." Lorelai started listing where they went as Rory and Gen had a silent conversation.
