A week has passed and I haven't seen Carl then. He left the hospital after he made a phone call. He didn't meet me as usual for a grill night even during lunch. With all things going on, I forgot to introduce him to my father at the hospital. Where was my brain, scattered? I muttered to myself.

My mom had a mild stroke and she's out of the hospital resting at home. It weighs heavily on me about her health and their wish for me to get married. What am I gonna do? I love them so dearly.

I heard my phone receiving a text message. It's Carl, but why do I feel so giddy that he contacted me? Was I longing for his company? Anyway, I was just happy that he wanted to meet me at the cafe. He said he wanted to talk about something.

I hurriedly dressed myself because he was already there at the coffee shop.

As I stepped into the cozy confines of the cafe, my eyes immediately gravitated towards him. His silhouette stood out amidst the crowd, cloaked in his signature all-black ensemble that accentuated his striking features.

With an air of mystery and allure, he exuded an undeniable magnetism that seemed to draw the attention of everyone in the room. As I glanced around, I couldn't help but notice the subtle demeanor among the other customers, particularly the ladies.

Their eyes lingered on him, their gazes filled with admiration. It was clear that he was the object of their fascination, his presence casting a spell over the entire cafe.

But as our eyes met, he greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly subtle wave, dispelling any illusions of the girls. The disappointment etched on the faces of other women was obvious, their hopes dashed by the realization that he was already taken.

With a knowing smile, I made my way towards him, weaving through the sea of envious stares. As I approached, a playful thought danced through my mind. If only they knew that he was on our team, I chuckled inwardly.

With a shared understanding, we exchanged greetings and settled into a comfortable conversation. And as I basked in the warmth of his presence, I couldn't help but feel a sense of amusement at the innocent envy of the other women in the cafe. After all, they had no idea that he was already taken, not by romance, but by our friendship.

As I placed my order for a latte, I couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation that tingled in the air.

But before I could even take a sip of my drink, he launched into his purpose with an unexpected proposal. "Let's get married," he stated, his words catching me completely off guard.

I blinked in disbelief, my mind struggling to comprehend his audacious proposition. "What?" I exclaimed, my voice betraying my shock. Surely, I must have misheard him. Marriage was the last thing I expected him to bring up.

I couldn't help but feel a surge of confusion and frustration. "What the heck is going on with you?" I demanded, my tone tinged with disbelief.

"Seeing you at the hospital with your parents talking about marriage it seems we both have the same dilemma," he explained.

If I marry him, my problem with my parents will be resolved. I just got a fully packaged husband to be sent straight to me, she thought. Fate has been good to me lately since I've been through a lot and I'll gladly accept this gift.

"Thank you universe!" I shouted inwardly. "But, Should I?"

I just want to make my parents stop their anxiety about my future, of being alone.

I just want them to stop worrying for me even just for a few years. And, I will worry then after we get there.

"What's in it for you?" I asked with an accusation in my tone. Why would he marry me with all the gorgeous ladies everywhere throwing themselves at his feet?
