"Just tell them"

It was Saturday and Taehyung had called Yoongi over as soon as lunch with his parents had ended. After catching him up to speed on the whole Jungkook ultimatum affair.

"It's not that easy, what if they send me away to a boarding school??"

"Dude, they won't" Yoongi laughed.

"What if???"

"It's obvious you care about Jungkook and honestly, it's not a crazy request"

"Yes it is, he should be understanding and patient" Taehyung huffed and crossed his arms, sitting on his bed.

"He knows what he's worth. He's golden boy Jungkook, he won't hide who he is"

Except he already was, Taehyung thought. Since he had promised Jungkook not to tell anyone his secret, even Yoongi didn't know but now that he thought about it, the ravenette was already hiding so much of his life, maybe he didn't want to have to hide who he loved as well.

"Besides, I'm gay and your parents love me"

"Yes but again, it could be different with me since I'm their son"

"Honestly, Tae, do you really feel like they would get mad? You know them better than anyone, what does your gut tell you?"

Taehyung stopped to think about it, his parents were very open minded people and like Yoongi said, they never cared about him liking other boys. And ever since he could remember they had always been very supportive of him, no matter what he did, they let him be himself and never once tried to control him or make him be anything he wasn't.

"No, I don't think they would mind"

"Then tell them, and the go spend your Saturday with your boyfriend"

"I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow"

"But why?"

Taehyung looked at his friend and smiled.

"Just in case things go wrong, I won't have to spend all day in the same house as them or anything. But I can't wait to tell Jungkook about my decision!"

"So are you going to go now?" Yoongi got up and started putting on his shoes when his friend stopped him.

Taehyung explained that he had been helping Jungkook with a song he was supposed to sing for a school event but the boy had been having some trouble composing the bridge part of the song and since Yoongi was a better composer, Taehyung hoped his friend would take a listen and help him.

After a bit more than an hour, Taehyung had a sheet with all the new and improved notes for the bridge and just general comments about the song. The two friends bid goodbye at their car before both driving away towards their boyfriend's house.

Taehyung walked inside the restaurant and waved hello to the owner before walking up the stairs to the loft. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door, hoping Jungkook was there.

"Tae, why are you here?"

"I know you're busy with the song but there's two things I have to tell you"

"Come in then"

When Taehyung saw Jungkook step aside to let him in, a warm sensation rushed through his body, he was expecting a much colder reaction from the younger. Sitting down, Taehyung tried to make small talk but he could see the other wasn't interested so he proceeded to tell him about his decision to tell his parents tomorrow.

"I guess you'll tell me how it went on Monday"

Jungkook's lack of emotion in his response made Taehyung feel uneasy. He expected a happier reaction, a smile or a hug. He longed for things to go back to the way they were.

"You said there were two things you needed to tell me?"

"Never mind the second one, it can wait. I should let you go back to your song" Getting up, Taehyung wanted nothing more than for Jungkook to ask him to stay but when all the other did was walk him back to the door, all hope was lost.

"I'll see you on Monday then..."

"Bye"

Looking at the now closed door, Taehyung understood that the ache he felt from Jungkook slowly distancing himself wasn't worth staying hidden from his parents. Even though he wasn't sure about his decision this morning, he was sure about it now and he couldn't wait for tomorrow and finally get this weight off his shoulder.
