MONDAY
Taehyung woke up feeling a hole in his stomach, his parents hadn't been home all day yesterday and he hadn't gotten a chance to tell them so now he had to walk into school and tell his already upset boyfriend that his parents remained unaware of his existence.
Walking to his classroom with dread, Taehyung thanked the heavens his first class was with Yoongi and not with Jungkook. He waited for his friend to arrive and immediately started rambling about his failed attempt.
The white haired boy listened attentively to his friend until he finally stopped, burying his head in his arms.
"Don't worry about it so much. Just tell him"
"How can I even face him????"
"It's not like you chickened out, your parents weren't home"
"But-"
"No buts, Tae, oh my god" Yongi grabbed him by the collar and rose him up. "Just be brave and ask for one more day"
"I caaaaan't. I feel so stupid right now, stupid and lonely. I miss my boyfriend"
"You would never survive a distant relationship like me and Hobi"
"Definitely not" Taehyung mumbled under his friend's chuckle.
The next two hours were torture for the boy, but it wasn't even close to his shared math class. He walked up to the door, as The field's Your love played on his earphones and came face to face with Jungkook.
"You're here early" He pointed out.
Jungkook would usually be the last one in the classroom spending all of his free time with other students who waited for him to exit the classrooms in order to get to him and walk him to his next class. So to see him standing by so early made Taehyung gulp and stop.
"I wanted to see you. What did your parents say?"
"Nothing, I haven't told them yet"
"Oh"
Taehyung could tell Jungkook was disappointed. He wanted to tell him why but he knew it wouldn't change the fact that his parents still didn't know.
"I'll them today, as soon as I get back home"
"Okay, then"
Taehyung waited for his boyfriend to say something else but nothing came so they stood there watching each other, not saying a word.
"Oppa, you said you would send me the homework last night but you never did!"
Taehyung turned to look at a small brunette girl, hanging onto Jungkook's arm, pouting.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Minji. I was busy with my song"
"How about now? Can you send it to me??"
"I'm talking with Tae right now-"
"Oh, hey, Tae! Didn't see you there" she turned to greet the other who nodded his head.
"Hi, Minji" Taehyung answered in a monotone voice.
One of the downsides of dating the most popular boy in school whilst being a nobody is that your boyfriend was always surrounded by people who didn't even notice your presence. He knew that since no one in school knew the two were together it was normal for others to interrupt them and come take Jungkook away from him, but it still made Taehyung slightly annoyed.
Minji was still pleading for the ravenette to help her with her homework. Talking nonstop and on top of Jungkook, she didn't even hear him trying to reject her.
"Minji, he said no. We're talking right now, so why don't you come back later" Taehyung had enough, he grabbed Jungkook's hand and walked away but not too far so they could still see when the teacher arrived.
Resting against the wall, he huffed and puffed, still annoyed. He knew it wasn't Minji's fault, like most people in this school she only saw the ravenette as a handsome, rich kid that she could use to her benefit, but Taehyung couldn't stand it anymore. Jungkook was everything to him, he was funny, he was kind, incredibly sweet and aware of others, always trying to help. Even after everything that happened between him and his parents, he still believed in good and never stopped trying to be better.
"Is everything alright?"
Taehyung looked at Jungkook and saw he was looking at him with a strange expression. He realized his outburst was a bit out of character for him and tried to come up with a reason as to why he had reacted so.
"Yeah, everything's fine" He knew that wasn't the answer Jungkook was waiting for, but he was now in a bad mood and didn't feel like caring about Jungkook's feelings since the boy hadn't been caring about his own lately either.
With that in mind, the two boys stayed put, standing next to each other, not saying a word. The brunette could feel the other shifting his gaze on him every five minutes but didn't spare him one look all the way until the teacher came.
The class had eventually ended as well as the rest of the school day. Taehyung was now on his way home, going over and over what he was going to tell his parents once they came home. He knew they valued straightforwardness and honesty but coming out without context wasn't a great idea either.
"I'll start by saying I'm my own person and point out the lack of girlfriends, ever... I mean that should've been their biggest clue" nodding his head, Taehyung looked at himself in the mirror. "Urgh, I can't do this by myseeeeelf" he cried.
He had about two hours to find the exact words to tell his parents. He started by writing some thoughts down, making a word cloud and throwing the pad away. This was never going to work, a logical approach wasn't what he needed right now, what he needed was to speak from the heart and trust that his parents would accept him for who he was.
A knock on the door brought Taehyung back to reality as his entire body froze.
"Already??? But it's too early!!!" Getting up from the couch, he walked over to the door but when he opened it, stood in front of him none other than Jeon Jungkook.
"What are you doing here?"
"Gee, not even a hello?"
"Sorry, I just meant, what are you doing here?" Taehyung shut his mouth and giggled nervously.
"Well, I was thinking about it and I thought it wasn't fair to let you do this by yourself. I mean I'm the one asking you to do something you weren't ready to do, the least I can do is do it with you"
"You bet you should" The two boys chuckled as Taehyung stepped aside to let the other in.
Closing the door, the brunette took Jungkook's hand in his.
"I'm really glad you're here, I've been going over this and I can't seem to figure out what to say" Taehyung confessed, sitting them down on the couch.
"And you never will. You can't plan what you'll say because you can't plan your parents' reaction. Just go with the flow and see how it goes"
Taehyung stayed quiet, taking in his boyfriend's words.
"I mean, that's just my advice" Jungkook quickly added.
"And it's good advice" Taehyung said, squeezing his hands. "Now that you're here, I'm not that worried about what to say. Besides, I think they're going to guess pretty quickly when they see us holding hands"
Jungkook giggled and nodded his head, going in for a quick kiss.
