I had been listening to my music nonstop ever since waking up and was dreading the start of math class because I would have to stop, the teacher had already caught me with my earphones too many times and the warning was clear: next time was detention.
"Hey"
With my earphones still plugged in I hadn't heard or seen Jungkook come up from behind me.
"Morning"
"So there's something I wanted to talk to you about yesterday but I didn't have a chance, you know, with you coming out to your parents and everything"
I giggled and nodded my head. Yesterday had been a weird day that had culminated in my coming out to my parents and against all odds (not really) my parents had accepted me with ease, even telling me they had suspected something was going on between me and Jungkook after meeting him the first time. I remembered he had gotten mad and left abruptly which did leave an impression.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"First of all, I didn't come to your house just because I felt bad. I ran into Yoongi who in a thought you already knew manner, told me about how you didn't tell your parents because you didn't see them, not because you chickened out"
"Oh" I looked down, not because I felt ashamed or anything, but because I hadn't told Jungkook and I was afraid he'd think I lied to him. "The point was that I didn't tell them, not matter why"
"See that's where we disagree" he said and played with my fingers. "They're very different, Tae and I wouldn't have been upset if you'd told me"
"I promise I'll tell you next time" I turned around but felt him poke my shoulder.
"That's not all Yoongi told me yesterday. He also asked me if I like the arrangements he made for the song"
A nervous chuckle escaped my lips as I tried to turn away but Jungkook's grip on my shoulders tightened, keeping me in place.
"Is that what you wanted to tell me when you came to see me at my flat the other day?"
"Yeah... but you looked like you didn't want to see me so I just left"
"I'm sorry for acting that way, Tae" rubbing his thumb over the back of my hand, I could tell he meant what he said.
"That's okay. So, did you like it?"
"Like what?"
"Yoongi's arrangement"
"Oh, yeah! I think I'm going to keep it, it's really good and now I only have to finish the lyrics and I'll be good to go"
"Aren't you a bit nervous? The song is for next week"
"I'll be fine-"
Before he could finish his sentence, a boy and girl student that clearly weren't in our year came to talk to him. At first I thought I'd be integrated in the conversation given how I was already talking with Jungkook when they arrived but no, they kept on talking solely to him.
God, I hated people like that who paid no attention to those around them. I could see Jungkook nervously glancing at me every few seconds as if he was making sure I didn't go anywhere but I was still getting annoyed and it wasn't until the teacher got here that the two finally stopped talking to Jungkook. But by now, it was too late for us to keep going with our conversation.
It had been four hours since the day started and now I was finally allowed to go eat lunch, so after meeting up with Yoongi who wasn't in the same history class as me, we went to get Jungkook and made our way to the cafeteria.
