After the failed rehearsal session, the two teenagers had gone downstairs to make sure they really rehearsed and so they were still going over the song when Taehyung's parents came home. For the next hour and a half, Taehyung and Jungkook tried to explain why Jungkook couldn't stay and had to go home to get ready for tonight until the elder's parents finally agreed if the ravenette agreed to have dinner at the house next week.
"See you in a couple of hours then" Jungkook said, leaning down to capture the other's lips in his.
Just like earlier today, Taehyung was already melting in the kiss but this time he had to remind himself that his parents were somewhere in the house.
"Mmm, any chance I can sleep over at your house tonight?" Taehyung asked between kisses, his forehead resting on top of the others'. He felt Jungkook's hand run through his hair ever so gently.
"You know I'd never say no to that"
"I was counting on it" he answered in a hushed giggle, finally stepping away from his boyfriend.
With sad eyes and pouting lips, Taehyung waved goodbye and stayed put until the black Mercedes disappeared from his line of sight. Sighing, he shut the door and fell face to face with his parents.
"I never thought I'd ever see you as a love struck teenager"
"Dad!" Taehyung was beyond embarrassed by his father's words, but he understood where he came from since he himself had always been skeptical about love and teenager behavior and yet here he was, crying over not seeing his boyfriend for a couple of hours.
Eager to be anywhere else, Taehyung made a swift exit to his room under the excuse that he had to get ready for tonight's event which wasn't really a lie. The first hour he spent watching tik tok videos on his phone before finally getting to showering and doing his make up while he finished picking his outfit.
At around eight pm, Taehyung got in his car and drove to the school's gymnasium where the event would be held. The schedule for tonight, as he understood it, was a speech from the headmaster, a rundown of each categories for the talent show then Jungkook opening the event with his song and from there on out, just students dancing, singing, and stuff like that before having a ball like moment where everyone could dance and eat.
Looking around, Tae was anxious to find his friend. It was in moments like these that he regretted having only one friend, but as he walked around the huge room, he saw a bunch of students from his year, waving him over.
"Hey, guys" he said and sat down next to Kihyun who was with Minhyuck, Daehyun, Wonho, Hyungwon and Jihyo.
"When is this starting? We've been sitting for thirty minutes already" Daehyun whined.
"Principal Kwon is toying with the mic so I guess any time soon now..." Minhyuck said, looking equally bored. As Taehyung looked at the principal and the music teacher it occurred to him that Jungkook would probably be backstage until he finished singing which meant he wouldn't be seeing him soon.
After about ten minutes, Taehyung got a text from Yoongi asking him where he was. Getting up to get a better view, the brunette waved him and Hoseok over.
"It's so cool you could come, Hoseok"
"I know, right! Maybe I can finally meet your boyfriend" Hoseok looked at Yoongi and back at the blushing brunette.
"Well you'll definitely hear him sing, he's the first act"
"Awesome!"
Taehyung had already hung out with Hoseok on many occasions but it didn't stop him from finding the difference in personality between him and his boyfriend rather amusing. Yoongi was quiet and composed whereas Hoseok was loud and cheerful. Opposite attracts, he thought as he looked at the pair, holding hands and whispering in each other's ear.
