Gotham

Wayne Manor

Jason and Hemlock POV

Tap, tap, tap

Hemlock turned away from the mirror and looked at the door before she said;

"Come in."

The door opened and she watched as Damian entered the room, carrying a small box wrapped in silver coloured paper with a blue bow on top in his hand.

"I wanted to give you this," Damian said as he handed the box to her.

Hemlock smiled and carefully removed the paper to relieve a small white box, opening the box she saw that it was a black hairpin in the shape of a bat. Taking it out of the box, Hemlock could see that it was beautifully detailed. The bat's eyes were two small red stones that caught the light, its mouth was opened displaying two fangs, the wings were stretched out and had an intricate pattern on them, and in its feet, it held a hemlock.

"Thank you, Damian, it's beautiful," Hemlock said before she turned back to the mirror and carefully placed the bat into her hair before she turned back to Damian.

With a sigh, Hemlock stood up from her seat and straightened her gown. The gown she wore was white and silver, with long (off the shoulder) sleeves which formed a slight point, the front part of the bodice decorated with delicate white lace, the skirt of the gown flared out slightly as it touched the floor. Looking around the room Hemlock spotted a long white cape sitting on a nearby chair.

"Hey, Damian, can you pass me the cape please?" Hemlock asked.

"Sure," Damian said before he walked over to the chair and picked up the cape, he then made his way over to her and handed her the cape.

Thanking him, Hemlock turned back to the mirror and placed the cape over her, tying it before she pulled the hood up.

"Well what do you think?" she asked as she turned to him.

"I think you look very pretty," Damian replied.

"Thank you. Well, then let's go."

Turning Hemlock walked over to the door as Damian followed beside her. Reaching for the door handle she opened the door and stepped out onto the landing, silently they made their way down the hallway before they walked down the steps that lead to the first floor of the manor, they turned and walked over to the front door which was open. She could see the others waiting by the path which led to the small cottage that had once belonged to a Gardner, but over time the cottage stopped being used and was eventually forgotten about until it was found and refurbished before being used by the family.

"You ready?" Dick asked as he smiled at them.

"Yes," Hemlock replied.

"Great! Well then, away you go! Jason is waiting at the bridge for you." Dick said before he leaned forward and 'whispered' "between you and me he's a little nervous."

"Dick! Jason isn't nervous." Tim said

"Really, then why did he try and stab me earlier?"

"Because you interrupted his reading."

"Oh. That makes sense. Well off you go, we'll see you later."

Hemlock smiled before she turned around and walked down the path.

After a couple of minutes of walking Hemlock came to a small bridge, stopping in the middle of the bridge. Hemlock turned and looked out onto the waters as the moonlight hit the waters. Taking a breath Hemlock started to sing softly the song that was based on the first vampire and his mate, the song was often used during mating ceremonies as finding one's mate was seen as a huge blessing from the first vampire and his bride.
