Gotham
Police station
Carlisle POV
Carlisle pulled up outside the Police Station, noting that Esme was already waiting for him on the steps of the station, upon seeing him she quickly rushed over and threw her arms around him.
"Carlisle thanks goodness you're here...you need to fix this!!" Esme cried.
"Don't worry, I'll clear up this little misunderstanding," Carlisle said before he pushed Esme away from him slightly, allowing him to step out of her hold. Walking up the steps he entered the Station.
Carlisle scanned the room briefly before he quickly made his way over to the desk and knocked on it before he waited for the Officer at the desk to look at him. Carlisle watched as the Officer continued to shift through some papers. Without looking up from the papers on the desk the Officer held out a file to a policeman rushing past who took it before thanking the Officer, the Officer then called out to another policeman walking past to remember to finish his paperwork before leaving for the night. Carlisle knocked on the desk once more this time harder, he watched as the Officer finally looked up from papers and stared at him with a slightly bored expression on his face.
"Yes. How can I help you?" the Officer asked.
"You see, my daughter Alice was brought in over what I know to be a misunderstanding. I would like her to be released." Carlisle said, making sure to put an authoritative tone in his voice.
"No." the man said before going back to look down at the paper
"What?"
"I said no. No, your daughter will not be released, it hasn't been 12 hours yet."
Carlisle looked at the man, anger coursing threw him at the man's words. Taking a deep breath he stood up taller and looked at them once more.
"You don't understand. Alice has been having great difficulty adapting to this city."
"Sorry to hear that but the answer is still No."
"But..."
"No."
"I'm sure it...."
"No"
"She didn't mean..."
"For the last time No."
Taking a deep breath in order to calm himself, Carlisle opened his mouth and asked
"Well if you're not going to let her out. May I at least see her?"
Carlisle watched as the man thought over his request before he nodded his head, and stepped out from behind the desk he then indicated to him to follow him. Carlisle pulled a face as they walked past the other people in the cells, some of them were shouting/arguing with the other policemen while others were sitting quietly in the cell. Soon they came to a door and Carlisle watched as the man opened it to reveal a hallway, walking down the hallway the man opened the door at the end revealing more cells each many of which were empty except for three cells, two policemen stood at either end of the room.
"Hey, Officer Jack!" a boy greeted as he sat up in the bed of his cell.
"John. What did you do this time?" the Officer asked, looking at the boy.
"Nothing too bad accidentally picked the pocket of Officer T...don't know if he was more disappointed in the fact I picked his pocket or the fact that when I was getting away I tripped on my lace."
"John, How many times have we told you to tie your laces?"
"Several...I'll make sure to tie them next time, It really hurts falling down the steps."
