Chapter 1

“She, who lost everything she cherished, and wished to disappear from the world.”

Valeri Williams was a normal girl from the province, known for her bubbly, kind, and cheerful nature. Lahat sa probinsya nila'y kilala siya dahil magiliw din ito sa kanila. Friendly ito at palaging nakangiti, kagaya ng kaniyang ina.

However, everything changed when she moved to Manila with her mother, who had remarried. Tumira sila sa bahay ng bagong asawa ng kaniyang ina. Ito din ang nagpaaral sa kaniya.

Her mother became pregnant with twins, and for six happy years, they formed a tight-knit family. Napamahal si Valeri sa kaniyang bagong ama. Sweet naman kasi talaga ang lalaki at mapagmahal sa asawa't mga anak, and Valeri wasn't an exemption.

Akala kasi ni Valeri na babalewalain siya ng bagong ama gayong hindi naman siya nito anak. But she have lived in lavish, kagaya ng kaniyang kambal na kapatid. She was cared for and loved, and for her that was enough to be content with life.

But when Valeri turned 20, tragedy struck. In front of her, her entire family was killed, including her mother, stepfather, and twin sisters.

Valeri could only cry and grimace in pain as the criminals repeatedly hurt her. She believed they would eventually kill her after subjecting her to such intense suffering.

However, one of them cruelly laughed and remarked, “I want to see this girl grow. She will probably become a beautiful feast,” which caused all the killers to burst into laughter.

Valeri silently cried, feeling the pain in her heart. She wasn't killed that night, but her heart was shattered into pieces. Her heart died along with her entire family. She knew that what had happened that night would be a torment that would haunt her forever.

She tightly clenched her fist and waited for the criminals to leave their house before approaching her family, who were covered in blood and lifeless.

Helpless and without strength, she clung to her family, crying silently and screaming without a voice.

A rescue team of soldiers arrived, led by General Alfredo. It was too late for them to save her family, and one of the soldiers, overcome with grief, shed tears.

Later on, Valeri learned that General Alfredo had been a close friend of her parents.

General Alfredo took Valeri under his wing at ito ang nagsilbing magulang at guardian niya sa mga sumunod na taon.

Valeri's life was turned upside down, and her personality changed as a result. She became distant, somber, intimidating, and serious.

One night, as they sat together having dinner, Valeri broke the silence and expressed her desire to train and become strong. She wanted to have the power to protect herself.

This left General Alfredo speechless, but he soon smiled and realized that Valeri had inherited her mother's determination and fearlessness.

Nakaramdam din siya ng pagkaawa sa dalaga, pero kinimkim lamang niya ito. Sa nakikita niyang pagbabago nito, alam niyang ayaw nitong kaawaan siya.

Maging si General Alfredo man, ayaw niyang nakakaramdam na kinakaawaan siya ng mga tao. Gusto niya iyong hinahangaan at kinatatakutan siya ng mga ito.

From that moment on, General Alfredo accepted Valeri's request and became her mentor.

General Alfredo dedicated himself to teaching Valeri the art of becoming a soldier. He imparted all his knowledge to her without fail.

Walang palya ang kaniyang pagtuturo sa dalaga. Natutuwa naman siyang turuan ang dalaga dahil sa determinasyon nitong matuto at mabilis din itong makaintindi.
